Good morning. Insanity is, we are told, something you catch from your children.  Seriously, the insanity of government is really catching, and it leads directly to insane actions by millions of people.  Some of those go far enough to kill themselves and/or others, and in some cases we can trace it almost directly back to the stupid (and insane) actions of government officials and employees, including elected politicians, judges, cops, and others.

For example, last week, we apparently had TWO breaches of security at the Fuehrer’s residence at 1600 PA.  The first involved a veteran who jumped the fence, sprinted across the lawn, and made it to just inside the building and – gasp – had a pocket knife in his pocket.  Mama Liberty pointed out: “Oh my goodness! Poor guys were terrified of someone with a 3 1/2 inch folding knife? I carry a bigger one in my pocket all the time.”  (For all of you guys who are afraid of Mama Liberty and her deadly weapons, just stay out of Northeastern Wyoming and she will NOT attack you physically.)  Actually, I carry a multi-tool with FOUR-inch blades (smooth and saw) AND has a hammer and a pair of sharp-pointed scissors too!  And don’t forget boot knives and daggers and those neat ink pens with triangular blades!

As Mama Liberty also pointed out, it turns out that the White House fence jumper was “concerned that the atmosphere was collapsing” and wanted to alert the president to the face.  The story concentrated on the “climate craziness” of the guy; I figure that he was also crazy thinking (1) that getting into the “people’s house” these days is going to happen, and (2) that a politician could do anything about the climate.  I also point out that the guy was NOT as crazy as the Fuehrer he was trying to “warn.” Mama replies: “In fact, in comparison, the fence jumper is stone cold rational.”

Government insanity may be one of the causes of this tragedy. An Elderly father shoots, kills drunken son in with history of violence, claims self-defense. Mama Liberty notes: “Here’s a story one wishes the gun grabbers would actually read and understand. The attacker should have been in a cage or dead many years before this, of course. Killing his own son was obviously the last thing this old man ever wanted to do, but he had no other option.  Thank God he had a gun. The courts can cage a man (or woman) for the rest of their lives for smoking a weed, but a monster like this is turned loose to destroy lives all around him. Too bad the first victim of his violence didn’t shoot him.”

Amen to that.  When an honest history is written of our era, this attacker will properly be considered a victim of government, ironic as that is.

At first I thought that the same could be said for the sick and cruel Florida man, a felon, who “wasn’t allowed to have the gun” with which he killed his daughter, six grandchildren, and then (supposedly) himself right in front of sheriff’s deputies.  But then I found out that his FIRST felony conviction was for having 20 grams (less than an ounce) of marijuana, in 1996, and was a two-time felon because he accidentally killed his son in a hunting accident when he was (as a felon) not allowed to have a gun.  Whatever demons possessed this man, at least part of his problems surely stemmed from the way he was convicted for two bogus crimes.

Here is another example, from the Islamic wars.  A 12-year-old sniper for the anti-Assad Syrian rebel coalition was interviewed on his actions.  I am NOT one of those who believes that “child soldiers” (that is, anyone under the age of 18 or even (according to some) 21) are inherently immoral or wrong.  The age of accountability (that is, when a child is able to fully understand the difference between right and wrong) is generally between 10 and 14; THAT level of maturity is necessary to be a soldier.  Artificially establishing 16, 18, or 21 as a minimum is itself taking away liberty.  But this boy kills WITHOUT feeling (or so he claims) and solely in revenge for Assad’s soldiers killing his father (again, so he claims).  This is an insane attitude: to kill without feeling. Killing is sometimes necessary, a requirement of self-defense, and even a sniper can and does kill in self-defense: defense of his (or her) fellow soldiers, family, community, or even tribe.  But here we again see the result of government insanity: Assad was and is willing to kill as many of “his people” as necessary to continue to rule the remnant.

Some good news on the cop-thug home front. Court denies qualified immunity for police who SWAT-stormed Florida barber shop To conduct licensing ‘inspection‘. Law enforcement officers who conducted a warrant-less SWAT-style raid on an Orlando barber shop, ostensibly to help inspectors conduct a routine occupational licensing exam, violated the proprietors’ 4th Amendment rights and are not protected from personal liability under the qualified immunity doctrine.  Not that I expect a judge or jury to find any of the thugs liable.  But compared to being charged for various crimes for any resistance or even talking back…  But back to my theme: WHAT kind of insanity gets these cop-thugs to use a SWAT team to see if all the barbers are licensed?  Who did they think owned the shop, Al Capone?

In more government insanity, the latest Anti-Small-Business effort to stop Global Warming is now underway, reports the National Review. Even as environmental regulations have become more complex, there is no real evidence global warming has occurred over the past 15 years.  But that doesn’t stop the thugs from pushing their religious agenda on us all.  I get so tired of so-called “Libertarians” and Liberals who claim that we who follow Christ are trying to establish a religious dictatorship, when the evolutionists and environists have already made significant progress in such a dictatorship in which those who do not believe in their gods (or goddesses) and miracles are stripped of free speech and their actions must conform to the dogma espoused by the government-backed religions.

Mama’s Note: What so many people seem to forget, or not consider, is the fact that, whether or not there is any “warming” at all, regardless of whether or not it was caused or increased by human actions…. it would be a good thing!! Nobody has provided any kind of proof that such warming would actually harm anything, including people. What is obvious and very easily proven is that all the efforts to stop this “warming” are absolutely and quite possibly lethally harmful to people all over the globe. Talk about insanity!

As for “warming” harming the earth itself, that’s ludicrous. The earth has been both much warmer and much colder many times. It is what it is, and the latest hard science indicates people had better get serious about surviving in the cold instead of worrying about “warming.” Me? I’ll take some warming any old day.

More aftermath of the Scots election.  An exclusive Reuters story claims that polls show that almost 25%, 1 in 4, Americans, are interested in having their state secede from the Union, due to unhappiness with DC and the FedGov.  But as Mama Liberty points out, all the vast majority of these people want is to let the STATE government, not FedGov, control their lives and give them their retirement, their medical care, and everything else.  We estimate that just MAYBE, 3 to 5 percent of Americans right now TRULY want liberty: without ANY government dictating the minutiae of their lives, controlling the economy, or stealing taxes from them.  People are insane to believe that 95% (or more) of state or local governments will be any more supportive of liberty than the FedGov is, no matter WHAT their leaders claim.

Mama’s Note: There is also considerable speculation that, since most of those voting “no” belong to the older generation, the younger generation in ten or twenty years would produce a different result if they voted on secession then. Unfortunately, all those now young enough to resent the fact that their labor supports the social programs of their elders will be receiving those subsidies and benefiting from the programs by then. I don’t see that another vote would produce any different result unless several things change drastically. And that still wouldn’t mean they were voting FOR individual sovereignty and self responsibility.
