Do you have any idea who said this? “You can’t be for big government, big taxes, and big bureaucracy and still be for the little guy.”

I guess I can sorta agree with this, but I’d rather state it more simply to make it true: “You can’t be for government, taxes, and bureaucracy and still be for people.”

By the way, it was Ronald Reagan, the closest person we’ve had to a conservative, vaguely “libertarian” occupant of the White House since… maybe Warren G Harding. But not VERY close, any more than Harding could be considered such – except in comparison to the other  people we’ve saddled ourselves with in nearly a century: FDR, Ike, JFK, LBJ, Nixon, and the rest.

Still, he was right (in this quote) as far as he went: government doesn’t CARE about regular people: “the little guy.” And government’s natural process is to get bigger: bigger taxes, bigger bureaucracy, bigger courts and bigger gains in power and wealth for the politicians and the connected “elite.” Does it come as any surprise that the Census Bureau just reported that the four wealthiest counties in the Fifty States are in the DC Area? Of course, Trump fits in this group, too – as much as the Clintons and so many others. The key differences between him and the “average, run of the mill” politically-powerful one-percenters are the fact that he HAS run businesses and not just held a bunch of government and academic jobs for his entire life, and his apparent willingness to buck that elite oligarchy in power: in both major, old parties. (A willingness yet to actually be implemented, I note.)

But those two things, by themselves, are more than enough to scare much of the rest of the elite: as we can see with the continued rhetoric and actions by the one-percenters, their allies, and their clientele (drones, worker bees, shills, etc.). Which is no doubt the reason we see such an outpouring of appeals and begging by the likes of Martin Sheen and Michael Moore, and thousands of others; members of the elite and their favored toadies and allies, every one.

They thought that they were in like Flynn. And now? Apparently Miz Hillary is depressed, or at least taking the election hard, and so the blame game grows bigger, especially as details of the decisions made by her campaign staff are revealed. She “had the election to lose,” and apparently she did – except that no one is going to blame the Teflon candidate. It is all Huma’s fault. And speaking of foreign agents influencing elections, the CIA still has not presented any REAL proof that Putin was behind the leaks which supposedly destroyed Hillary’s chances, but Huma herself is a galvanized American with deep ties and roots in the Ummah (the Muslim world), and herself (despite her dress and feminist credentials) Muslim herself. She’s not even a home-grown Muslim, but gets the same sort of pass from the media (or has) as Communists did back in the 1950s and 1960s.

But I am getting off-track. The point is, these people are afraid, although with no solid justification, that Trump will reduce government, reduce spending, reduce taxes, and reduce bureaucracy; all essentials for the growing control of everything that Progressives seek.

Honestly, whatever you think that Trump might do, this latest attempt to stage a coup against him (a preemptive coup, at that) makes it clear that the alternative (Miz Hillary) would have been worse. Trump may not drain the swamp, but just maybe might reduce the number of alligators in it. Even for a short time.

And in the meantime, we who love our families and liberty (yes, and God, for many of us) can continue to prepare for when the wheels really DO come off.
