The NRA Does NOT Speak For Me

By MamaLiberty

No, the NRA doesn’t speak for me, and never did. Neither the “president,” nor any politician can speak for me either. I do hope Mr. Trump manages to learn that he can’t please everyone, and finds some rational advisers at the very least, but he has zero legitimate authority to dictate anything to me – about anything.

Nobody can speak for me unless I ask them to do so. I have not authorized anyone to speak for me, or to make decisions about my life and safety.

As a human being, I am the only one responsible for my life and safety. As a parent, I took personal responsibility for the health and safety of my children. No government can do that for you, no matter how compassionate and caring they seem to be – or say they are.

None of these people are asking or answering the real question:

Can evil people be prevented from doing evil by making everyone else a helpless potential victim? Do you honestly think that “laws” restricting or prohibiting an inanimate object will prevent evil people from harming others? If so, I’d like to hear exactly how you think that works…

Who owns your life? Who is responsible for your life and safety? If you choose to be subject to the non-voluntary government, do you think others can be/should be forced to go along with it? Can you speak for everyone/ anyone else?

Think about it.

Sole master, and fully responsible for those choices and actions. Far too many people want to be “free,” to be masters of their own life… but prefer to blame others for their failure and discomfort. Too many people still think that they can be “free,” yet do things to control the lives and property of others. Most in the name of “democracy.”

a corrupt system can only produce corruption. working within a corrupt system for ‘change’ that is positive is the ranting of a lunatic, if not naivete’ to an unacceptable extreme.

the overarching problem in this nation is the hive, or collective, mentality that has been foisted upon and embraced by far too many with the outcomes predictable and all around us.

this will not end well, but end it will. a divided nation as we are now with no apparent ability, or willingness, to compromise will lead to a physically divided nation. so be it.

What is this “compromise” you speak of? I absolutely refuse to compromise my principles, and have no interest in unity for its own sake. I see, instead, a whole continent filled with sovereign individuals who choose to associate voluntarily, negotiating problems, and having no desire to control the lives and property of others.

Compromise assumes both side have something they are willing to give up in the deal. I won’t give up my liberty, and they sure as hell have nothing I want.

Exactly. A “compromise” works fine if both sides agree to accept the idea. They might also agree to each going their own way and NOT compromise at all. When one set of people uses force, intimidation and fraud to push their “side,” it is not a compromise at all. I will never agree to anything that makes me a helpless victim.
