The lies and exaggerations of environists dovetail with the lies of politicians and the global elite. And ignore reality. But claims that environism (green politics) is losing ground are wrong: hype that ignores the growing pressure by government and their greenie shills.
A recent article about the chimera of offshore windpower generation explains a lot of basic truths about the myths of affordable green energy in the 2023-24 world. The Telegraph story gives a point by point list of failed and failing projects in Europe and North America. The gist? Not enough subsidies, too many regulations, and too costly. The results: mandates for green energy are expensive and likely to be unmet, but still cost consumers of energy trillions in additional fees and rates. While making even privately-owned utilities more dependent on and more under the thumb of governments.
For governments, the truth will garner a big yawn. Before they come up with a way to ban them, no doubt. For non-Woke engineers who can and will crunch honest numbers, they will be able to say, “I told you so.” For doomsday Gaia-worshippers? More panic and more extremism.
I do not know at what point the environist greenies will go from “I won’t have children because the planet can’t support them” to “You can’t have children because the planet can’t support them” to openly admitting “You can’t live any longer because the planet can’t support you.” Perhaps they will push for a real-world “Logan’s Run” scenario?
Whether it is a 50% or 80% or 99% population reduction, expect to hear more and more environists proclaiming this new version of their gospel. They are reversing the old High Priest’s comment that “the one must die for the good of the many” (as echoed by Spock once) to “the many must die so that the one can have the best.”
Offshore windpower is not the only exploding failure. Huge solar and windfarms continue to disappoint as far as cost (extreme), reliability (are you kidding?), production (not enough), visual impacts, environmental impacts, and government regulations.
The recent COP28 anti-fossil fuel resolution adopted almost unanimously by 200 nations ignores the reality of physical, climatology, and politics. A so-called “just, orderly, and equitable” transition from fossil fuels by 2030 and eliminating all carbon emissions by 2050 is a pipe dream. But one which will almost certainly prove more destructive than the so-called manmade global climate change (global warming) it is supposed to prevent.
But to those high rollers “working hard” in Dubai at the expense of everyone in their home nations (including the poor), it is just another way of increasing their power and wealth. And that of their descendants and successors as the elite rulers of everyone else. Everyone that they let live, that is.

Is “green” gone? Hardly – just more deadly than most of us understand
