Several years ago, I got a rare treat: a real, hardcopy, postage-stamped Nigerian scam letter – from Nigeria. All the usual things: the widow of a prince wanted me to help her smuggle millions of dollars of her inheritance into the United States for which she would split the proceeds. It was classic and very old-fashioned, as most Nigerian, Pakistani, Ghanan and other scammers had gone to emails a decade before. I still have it as a curiosity. Much more interesting than the usual phone call, text, or email spam.
It seems that the British Commonwealth is often the home base for scammers like this. I understand from friends that it isn’t just Yanks that are targets: Scots and Welsh folks get them too.
But it appears that something that might seem to be a scam may be showing up in your USPS-served mailbox soon. That is, if you were on social media (Facebook, X, etc.) and you spoke up on behalf of people in England protesting against unlimited immigration and the behavior of too many immigrants in the UK.
That subpoena and notice of extradition proceedings against you may not be a scam trying to get money from you. It may be “legit” legal paperwork. (For certain definitions of “legit.” Really issued by His Majesty’s (Charles III) shysters. And no doubt to be acted on by some secret mutual aid agreement between your local Sheriff or police department and those quaint English bobbies.
To let you learn about it, we have a guest editorial from Jim Rickards of Paradigm:
Can You Be Arrested, Tried and Sentenced to Jail for a Tweet? Yes.
The UK is currently experiencing a wave of violence by protestors and counter-protestors involving objections to crimes committed by illegal immigrants and claims of racism by the immigrants themselves who routinely flout UK law. The new Labour government is coming down firmly on the side of Muslim activists and against the working-class native-born British protestors. The government is using as many surveillance and arrest tools as it can find to support the radical Islamists and fight their own middle-class. In the latest development, the Director of Public Prosecutions for England and Wales told police officers to monitor online communications, including social media, to identify those who support the working-class demonstrators.
He said, “we do have dedicated police officers who are scouring social media.” He then threatened, “People might think they’re not doing anything harmful—they are, and the consequences will be visited upon them.” Finally, he said, that those using social media outside the UK to support protestors will be “hunted.” [Italics and bold by TPOL.]
I’ve lived through these kinds of neo-fascist witch hunts. In 2022, I was living in Canada and donated funds to the Freedom Convoy who were peacefully protesting against vaccine mandates and other COVID-related rules that hindered commerce and did no good in terms of the disease. My contributions and those of many others were illegally seized by the Canadian fascist Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland and directed to unintended purposes. The UK effort to monitor online speech, track down those who disagree with the government, and even imprison them is consistent with what’s going on in the U.S., Canada and other supposedly liberal or democratic governments.
Police powers are being used to squash free speech and arrest the innocent who happen to dissent from left-wing government policies. It’s difficult to fight back when the government controls the police, prosecutors and the judges and works hand-in-glove with Big Tech and the media.
The only solution is to change the government. That’s why neo-fascist governments in the U.S., UK and Canada are working so hard to rig elections and allow illegal immigrants to vote. If they succeed, their reign of terror will be semi-permanent, at least until society itself collapses. In that case, the sole recourse for freedom loving citizens is to go underground as dissenters did in East Germany and the old Soviet Union during the worst days of Communist control during the Cold War. We’re getting closer to that state of affairs by the day.
Jim is mostly right. But “changing the government” is not enough. It may bring a decade or two respite before we are back at this point again. Maybe.
But the drumbeat of attacks on free speech, as Jim touches on, will not quit – even if every politician in Parliament and the local authorities (in the UK) or every politician in Congress and the White House are thrown out. The institutions that allow them to do this, and that they want to make more and more powerful, would remain. Indeed, others report that England, bringing visions of the original Tea Party to mind, is threatening to extradite Elon Musk for permitting discussion of their tyranny on X. Millions of Americans would cheer that: a poll claims that 53% of Americans agrees with Minnesota dictator Tim Walz that “the First Amendment goes too far.”
No, what is needed is getting rid of government. Ending the power of the parasites who hate liberty. And hate normal people. And lust for more wealth, more power, more glorification of themselves and their kind.

Free speech? “Not on my watch!”
