Hmmm. A year ago? Confirmed?

This cartoon appeared a year ago online. Does it seem to be prophetic?

Sorting through some photos, our staff found this one. We realize we’ve not heard much about Dear Leader or Great President Kim Jong Un recently.

And then, just as this commentary was being written, Great President was in the news again! Obviously North Korea (the Democratic People’s Republic) is still an imminent danger to the great American Democracy!

Why do we know this? Kammie, VPOTUS herself, says she will “not” cozy up to dictators like Kim Jong Un. (Why? He isn’t very photogenic, is he? Not like, say Zelenskyy (“president” and dictator of Ukraine). Or Trudeau (Premier of Canada and would-be dictator). But perhaps she identified her real reason: Kim is rooting for Trump!

But there is more! Newsweek tells us that Kim Jong Un’s rule leads to the biggest surge in “North Korean Elite defections.” Gee, can we wonder why that might be? The Wall Street Journal warns us that Kim Jong Un wants to block all North Koreans from escaping. It isn’t working, they tell us. (And indeed, the website Benzinga told us us a few days back that “After [a] North Korean soldier defects to [the] South, expert says Kim Jong Un ‘is aware of internal discontent’: ‘Border barriers are proof’ and backs up Newsweek about the highest number of defectors in years includes diplomats and overseas students. And even the Times of India is reporting “North Korean Olympic medalists [are] under Kim Jong Un’s wrath for ‘unpatriotic’ smiles with South Korean rivals.”

All of these actions, of course, pose dangers for the Fifty States – or at least for the FedGov. UPI even claims that We can, among other things, no doubt expect Uncle Joe and CBP to welcome more and more “escapees” from North Korea, as we see the number of Chinese “refugees” has exploded in the last several years.

But just who (or what) is Dear Leader really a threat to? Certainly to his own people – especially those who are at the very bottom of the economic and social ladder, but also those who fail him in some way and therefore visible enough to incur his wrath.

And given the DPRK’s stance and technology and testing, we might agree that they are a threat to nearby neighbors: the Republic of Korea, Japan, and perhaps both China and Russia. But to the States? Other than to the US forces stationed in the area, we fail to see a direct threat even to Hawaii, Alaska, or Guam.

However, as the year-old cartoon pointed out, maybe Kim Jung Un is a threat to the Democrats: first to now semi-retired lame-duck Uncle Joe and now to his successor and beneficiary of the coup that made Joe a lame duck.

How? While many – even most – tyrannies (dictatorships) demonstrate that tyranny (not just but especially Communism) destroy nations, societies, and economies? North Korea is the poster child. Seemingly far worse that we see in Venezuela, Belarus, and older examples. The ROK (South Korea) has been wise, perhaps, in refusing to attempt to help rational people (if any remain) in the North to overthrow Kim. And therefore reunite Korea. Just the effort to help the people recover from the insanity of living under not just “Communism” but as the private slave-holding plantation that is the North for more than 70 years would beggar the South. And as Germany has shown, probably permanently warp the society and politics of the nation. (The same danger most States west of the Mississippi face when California either goes belly-up or is kicked out of the Union.)

So the greatest danger the DPRK presents to Americans? At least in the eyes of Democrats and the Woke? That the West and Americans in particular will see the disastrous effects, short and long term, of dynastic communism – which more and more they are pushing.
