Truth from a liar?

To be tactful, John Kerry is a real piece of work. He is right up there with the Clintons, the Bushes, the Obamas, Uncle Joe (at least when he was mentally competent), and dear Kammie when it comes to political parasites feeding on the body politic.

But sometimes even people like Nixon or Kerry or your local scummy politicians speak the truth. As part of their word salad and self-serving rhetoric.

So while this recent tirade of his is what we would expect, it has some surprising truth in it:

I think the dislike of and anguish over social media is just growing and growing and growing. And it’s part of our problem, particularly in democracies, in terms of building consensus around any issue.

It’s really hard to govern today. You can’t you know, there’s no…referees. We used to have to determine what’s a fact and what isn’t a fact. [That’s] been eviscerated to a certain degree. And people…self-select where they go for their news or for their information, and then you just get into a vicious cycle.

So it’s really, really hard, much harder to build consensus today than at any time in the 45, 50 years I’ve been involved in this. There’s a lot of discussion now about how you curb those entities in order to guarantee that you’re going to have, you know, some accountability and facts, etc.

But look, if people go to only one source and the source they go to is sick and has an agenda and they’re putting out disinformation, our First Amendment stands as a major block to the ability to be able to just, you know, hammer it out of existence.

Now, obviously, this parasite didn’t mean this to be taken as a good thing. That is, that it is “really hard to govern” and “much harder to build consensus” are not seen by the likes of John Kerry as being good.

We disagree – we most disrespectively disagree! Americans have always been and should always be “hard to govern” – we need no human kings or human “Massas.” (Even though we’ve been saddled with them, thanks to our own failings and weaknesses.) We need no “imperial presidents” but we don’t need imperial parliaments (Congress) either to lord it over us.

And he certainly does speak the truth in that last sentence. The very purpose of the First Amendment was to keep the government(s) from hammering free speech out of existence! Yes, even what someone (a Clinton or a Harris or a Kerry) claims is “disinformation.” To paraphrase South Dakota Governor Noem back during the Pandemic Panic (no doubt as goosed by the legislature) when she rejected the powers of a monarch, “we are adults and we can decide for ourselves.” About locking down, wearing masks, or whether something is true or not.

Americans – and actually, all humans except those too immature or too mentally/emotionally incompetent – ALL have the ability to be self-governors. Hard as it is. But that means we are hard to be governed by “our betters” – and indeed, it should be impossible for them to do so. But it is easy to be lazy (and easy) and accept “management” and abuse by those in power.

We come by that “honestly” – not just the Scots and Irish (generally difficult or impossible for their “betters” to govern), but the English themselves – the Saxons and (as soon as they were corrupted!) the Normans. And even the Spanish-descended Americans are generally bred to be pains in the rear of monarchs and dukes and the like. At least those in these States. Ditto for many AmerInd folks: we kick at the traces constantly, and have for half a millennium or more.

(This is why Europe and Latin America are such a mess today: the rebels, the rabblerousers and the neer-do-wells left them and came here, so it was the docile stay-behinds that make up the bulk of their subservient populations today. To be exploited by the powers-that-be in those countries. Of course, sometimes the breeding isn’t all that fool-proof. And the powers-that-be, the parasites, are often stupid and complacent.)

Jesus told us, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” But people like Kerry prefer the opposite: “We’ll keep the truth from you and you’ll continue to be slaves.”

And again, Kerry spoke truth – though he surely didn’t mean to. He said, “if people go to only one source and the source they go to is sick and has an agenda and they’re putting out disinformation, …” Because Kerry and his ilk want that “one source” to be the government. Specifically, the FedGov. And indeed, that source is (a) sick, (b) has an agenda, and (c) is putting out disinformation.

Kerry is the hit dog barking.
