This just out – at 1800 hours Mountain Time. The Donald has proposed making the Gaza Strip an American Territory. And then attracting private investment to make Gaza into a modern Mediterranean resort complex – like the Spanish or French Rivera but better. Or the kind of place we find in Dubai or other Persian Gulf tourist havens. Or perhaps Singapore or what Hong Kong used to be.

He is even considering using US military forces (presumably we Army Engineers and Navy Seabees) to rebuild Gaza. And it seems that the Israelis are at least considering it – or at least Bibi is.

Call it “control-alt-delete” – find a temporary abode for the remaining occupants of the Gaza Strip. Then do a version of what the various Persian Gulf sheikdoms took 75 years to do. But without the sheiks and the baggage. Nation-building? Or State building. Would Gaza be a territory like Dakota Territory or Arizona Territory for a few decades and then apply to be admitted to the Union?

Listening to the press conference – it appears that this proposal is shocking, evil, insane, imperialist, fascist, and every other political and socialist slander that the establishment press and Regressives can and do use. The screams will no doubt crescendo to an ear-splitting level within hours.

We note that Trump is apparently seeking to do what the Israeli Kings (David and Solomon) should have done 3,000 years ago: end the cesspool that was then Philistia (the Five Cities or Pentarchy) and is now pretty much the modern Gaza Strip. Historians tell us that despite the power of David’s kingdom (and empire), all he did was contain the Philistines. Who kept their perversions and ambitions. That problem continued 1,000 years later under Roman rule: part of the district was ruled directly by the Imperial gens but its religion, culture, and mores remained unchanged. The Islamic conquest 600 years later superimposed yet another religion but seemingly did not significantly change the basic society. The Gazan “infection” spread to all of Canaan and the Sinai, and the Crusaders, the Mamalukes, the Ottomans, and the British failed to eradicate that. But after the Israeli Reconquista, that monstrous society was again concentrated in the Gaza Strip: Philistia reborn just as Israel was reestablished.

And no, we see none of this as an act of God – He permitted it but did not “ordain” these things. However, The Donald may disagree.

Again, we hasten to note that this could be – probably is – another example of Trump setting forth a radical, outrageous, extreme proposal as the first steps in the dance of The Deal.

But it is an incredible vision – despite all the problems with it – of a totally “thinking out of the box” proposal. Trump is rejecting the idea of a Two-State solution: at least as far as Gaza is concerned. He is insulting both “Palestinians” (Canaanite Arabs and Israeli Jews) and four years of Democratic shilly-shallying. And it is a real estate deal – yet another Trump resort! His gall is incredible. And his entertainment value just amazing!
