At least in Colorado, we have this news:
Knewz.com reports that recent polls have revealed that Colorado voters hold negative views of both major political parties. Republicans are increasingly seen as champions of the working class, but 56% of those surveyed disapproved of Republicans. Fifty-one percent disapproved of Democrats, but unaffiliated voters leaned slightly more favorably toward Democrats.
Colorado is not alone. In many States, more and more people are fed up with both the old parties – and with government. Not just business as usual, but the entire system.
Oh, dear, oh, dear!
And every scandal, every discovery of waste and corruption by DOGE, every unhinged attack and crying fit by Woke supporters of Democrats? Every perceived infringement of God-given liberty by right- or left-wing politicians and conspirators? Every revelation of how government officials lied and plotted to deny science and common sense, to promote radical schemes and twist facts?
Just makes a few more people realize that the old parties are hopeless – more than worthless. They see that the GOP and Dems are little more than bringers of tyranny, poverty, chaos, and illness. More and more ordinary people see their political leaders as men and women who want to destroy American society, deny peace and prosperity, and promote irrational and frankly insane actions that are destructive to human life.
Good.
So more and more actions to end the insanity seem to be at least possible. People continue to wake up. Really wake up, not just become the Woke zombies that have dominated politics and society for the past several decades.
The mere fact that tens of thousands of federal employees have decided to opt-out and quit – even if courtesy of bribes and fear – is wonderful news. And an indication of good change. The elimination of government policies that attempt to engineer society – blatantly using “power” never properly or honestly granted to government – is another. The mere serious discussion about eliminating billions of dollars in government spending, and deep-sixing entire government agencies is yet another.
Proposals that would have seemed impossible to implement – and derided as crazy in the past – now may have a chance. An example? Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) introduced the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act in the Senate on Thursday 6 FEB. (Cute legislation names are disgusting here to TPOL – this is no different.) Paul’s bill is intended to take action to “put power back in the people’s hands instead of the administrative state,” he announced. The current process in the FedGov lets administrative regulations go into effect unless explicitly disapproved by Congress. Paul’s proposal in the REINS Act would require major rules to be approved by the legislative branch before going to the president for signature and approval.
This is in line with recent court decisions. It is also key to destroying the administrative state. It might start the process of reversing the constant trend of the ever more powerful FedGov bureaucracy we have suffered under since about 1915: 110 years.
We can hope – and plan – that we have perhaps reached a turning point. But this is not enough.
What we need is not just a rejection of the old parties – to be replaced by new political parties that again beat the drum to march on the same old parade route. A parade to doom.
We know that we have corrupt government. We know that we have power-hungry and seemingly stupid, gullible, and venal politicians who have been the blind leading the blind for more than a century and a half. Yet, because of the great gifts of God – resources, geography, intelligence and perseverance of ordinary – and extraordinary – people, we have prospered. Not because of government actions. But in spite of government.
What is happening now in 2025 is a tiny move in the right direction. But it is not even a baby step. Barely a crawl
We need to stop the insanity. We must steal away the power, the authority over our every minute of life, that governments have stolen from us.
The choice is ours.

Bad news for old parties – good news for liberty?
