As we all long for more moisture, less bitter cold and wind, and signs of spring!

Several of the staff of TPOL made their annual pilgrimage to Utah – not to Salt Lake City or any sacred site or ground, but to the annual Damage Prevention Seminar helping engineers, contractors, and owner-operators of buried utilities to avoid destruction, injury, and death when digging up things. More about that later, but it brings to mind what is going on in DC right now.
Digging up things is important. People (individually and in criminal cabals (like government)) bury things that they don’t want to be seen. Things that they don’t want changed – and sometimes don’t want found. Governments are experts at this.
We were reminded of safety constantly as we made a four-day round trip of just under 1600 miles across the Northern Great Plains and the Central Rockies. Snow and ice plagued us going down to the Red Rock Country, and Wyoming’s almost constant winds were worse than usual as we returned. Safety – as most of us know – is no game.
Even in politics.
What Elon Musk is digging up in DC and around the world is (but should not be) truly amazing. Not just billions of dollars (however badly devalued by stupidity in government and multinational corporations) in waste – but more billions in outright fraud, courtesy of corruption and political intrique and “favors,” both at home and in foreign lands.
Musk, his boss The Donald, and the people they have working for them at DOGE (and elsewhere) are risking much. Digging up the “wrong stuff” is dangerous work. As more evidence is (and is not) released regarding the events of the 1960s – buried for more than half a century – these should be seen as cautionary tales.
Indeed, it is important to remember that human life is absolutely NOT sacrosanct to the powers-that-be. To the people that have siphoned off trillions of dollars over decades. They have no more qualms about deep-sixing a meddlesome and nosy investigator than they do about wiping out a Bedouin encampment in the deserts of Syria or Mesopotamia. Indeed, perhaps less since they have so many ways of doing it.
In the meantime, the propaganda war keeps ramping up – perhaps to justify the final solution that grows more and more tempting for the crooks and their lackeys and buddies in every city and military outpost – and especially in DC. The incredible ridiculous nature of their claims is more and more apparent.
And too many good, honest, but naive people – people who believe they are patriotic and reasonable and good citizens and neighbors – buy into the insane claims. And are constantly reminded of the old ones.
The solution, as someone pointed out, is the detergent and disinfecting nature of sunlight. Get the truth out, reveal what is under those rocks, and pay attention to who scurries about and screams loudly.
It is going to get more intense. Count on it.
