The people at The Price of Liberty have known Don Underwood for many years. Given the situations around the world today in 2025, and the various claims, this commentary and poem are worth reading and thinking about.

When we yield to a secular government, and we give up our individual liberties and freedoms, we may never get them back. History reveals to us many lessons, but do we ever learn? People have always given into a herd mentality to follow whatever authority they yield their will to obey.

In our world, we find a broad way that is filled with gods. People will follow money and material possessions thinking this is happiness. Some people believe government is their god and they will yield personal freedoms for the good of the whole, thinking we must do this to survive.

The following poem highlights a race of people taken to a distant place of isolation to be executed, and the government told them it would be safe.

“The Train to Auschwitz”

The government came

and told us that we needed to be isolated

for our own protection.

We believed the agents of the government,

we did what they said to do,

and we were isolated.

We voluntarily climbed on board the train,

because, we were told

this is what we must do to live and survive.

We gave up our individual freedom,

for socialistic rule.

We were taken to be quarantined,

we were given a new home

and many of us would die in isolation,

because we did what the government said to do.

What happened to our liberties?

What happened to our individual freedoms?

They were willingly given to the government

and placed on the train to Auschwitz.

Don wrote this in the midst of the Pandemic Panic and lockdown, which reminds more and more of us of the fragility of liberty when we have allowed human government to overwhelm society.

Today, we have seen that it is not just National Socialists (Nazis) nor Communists (International Socialists/Progressives) that are willing to kill people that they don’t like or think are worthless. The tyrants and parasites in places like Australia, New York, Wisconsin, California and other places are also willing to “place our freedoms on the train to Auschwitz” and let people die (or kill them) because of false science and political correctness. And allow nihilists to destroy society and cultures as well as liberty and people. Here at TPOL, we call them Transnational Regressives (not Progressives) because they want mankind to revert to ancient evils and to bow down, not to God but to those who claim to be gods and who claim to speak for God.

The modern and recent historical monsters like Stalin and Mao, Pol Pot, Chavez and Madero or not the first, of course. Nor are the Bidens, Luhan-Greshams, Newsoms, or Walzes. Human history is fill with the tyrants, the killers, the parasites. Some small (in their impact) and some large. Some wear black, some feldgrau, some Union blue or Royal red. But it is not their uniforms nor their rhetoric that we must pay attention to: it is their actions.
