Some conservatives and libertarians are upset with SCOTUS. Again. Particularly with Kavenaugh and Barrett. According to the Western Journal, they voted with liberal members and the Chief Justice to refuse to hear a case in which Maryland has outlawed an entire class of weapons from private ownership.
Here at TPOL, we have to admit that we fail to see how any reasonable reading of the US Constitution would allow such a thing to stand. Of course, it isn’t the Constitution: it is politics and the evil perception that “democracy” allows a majority of people (or voters, at least) to deny fundamental, God-given human rights. Because of fear and propaganda: or indeed, for whatever reason.
We are again reminded of this famous quote attributed to Benjamin Franklin:
The Western Journal article quoted Kavenaugh to suggest that the refusal to hear the case had something to do with some kind of scheme being concocted behind the scenes and that glorified throne that the Nine Nazgul sit behind and on. That the SCOTUS is just waiting for the “perfect” case to come up that will let them once again restore self-defense rights long denied by the FedGov and many States.
Don’t hold your breath. We too hope – perhaps wish is a better term – that would happen. But the SCOTUS Nazgul have long demonstrated that they value power far more than they value liberty or the Constitution.
Why else would they allow 9 of the Fifty States to deny people living in those States the freedom supposedly “protected” by the US Constitution (and in many of those States, their own Constitution)? Which is something Kavenaugh admitted. AR-15 and similar weapons are “allowed” in 41 States. (The Washington Times reports that “Maryland, Washington, California, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Delaware have assault weapon bans that cover AR-15s.”)
This is not the only recent decision by the Nine Nazgul that has many lovers of liberty and even Libertarians upset.
The refusal to hear the case for freedom of speech and expression, the “Two Genders” case, also was seen as a blow to liberty. A middle school student was punished for wearing a tee shirt that challenged his school’s position on transgenderism, homosexuality, and other “positions.” The denial in effect endorsed the “rights” (powers) of government-owned, tax-funded schools to deny fundamental rights to students, teachers, and staff.
Recent decisions allowing deportation without what many believe to be “essential” to due process anger many. And the mere fact that the justices have decided in favor of The Donald on anything upsets Regressives and many Libertarians.
But emotional backlash to the side, what do we expect? The Nazgul are fully vested into the power system as it exists. Cases like this challenge business as usual in which the deep state and various parasites have neutered the Constitution’s protections of God-given rights. And perverted any potential justification of legitimacy of human government. Rather than “praise those who do good and punish wrongdoers” the various State governments and the FedGov (supposedly their servant) punish those who do good and everyone in general (through laws, regulations, and taxes) and reward those who do evil and immoral things. Neutrality might be justified (to some): endorsement, praise, and rewards for perversion and stealing other people’s property and liberty are clearly evil.
There are many proposals for “reform” of the American “justice” system, but we suggest that reform will fail, just as it did in the 1500s and since as “Reformers” tried to fix the Catholic Church. Just as France (to name one nation) has failed time and again to “reform” government built on false premises. As with virtually all parts of the FedGov and State governments, there is no easy solution. And the effort to find and implement one that works is fraught with danger. Physical, moral, political, and spiritual.

What is going on now? SCOTUS rules?
