More thoughts on “the pizza caper”

Yesterday, we published a long, perhaps apocryphal story about a 2nd grader who was punished for being kind to a classmate. For trying to share his lunch with the classmate who was served the “cheese sandwich of shame” because his parents hadn’t paid for the “regular” meal.

No doubt some will claim that the solution to that situation is what is being done now in, for example, Colorado. Where all school lunches (and presumably, breakfasts, snacks, and more) in the public schools (government-run, tax-funded) are free. Or what likely is the case in New Mexico, where now childcare is free. Of course, we mean “free to those eating the food, and being cared for” and in the case of many, free even to their parents.

But they are not free: it is just that someone else besides the child benefitting (and their family) is footing the bill. That is, the taxpayers. Current and future. Or whoever is left holding the bag with the whole corrupt and bankrupt system fails cataclysmically. There ain’t no such thing as a free lunch.

What is being done in Colorado, New Mexico, and elsewhere is socialism: and not just that, but an particularly insidious form of that evil: teaching children that government provides. And must be obeyed. We are reminded of the story about the teacher(s?) in Soviet Russia, telling their students to close their eyes and pray to God for candy, only to find their desks still bare. And then telling them to pray to Comrade Stalin, only to open their eyes to find on their desks the candy the teacher put there. The children, the students, “benefit” from such games, right?

Of course, the students and the children being cared for are not the only “beneficiaries.” If indeed they benefit and are not just abused by the system. (Remember when government declared that ketchup was a vegetable? Remember the food pyramid which was used to brainwash generations?) The beneficiaries truly are adults. Many of whom we could characterize as “parasites.” Or at least as “predators.

The beltway bandits who profit from selling often shoddy products to the schools, as blessed by the government agencies. And those agencies themselves. And all the bureaucrats that program and plan and pay the bills for the meals. With money stolen from taxpayers, of course.

And who suffers? The children, for one, locked up in the “gun free zone” security of the school building (including the lunchroom) for 6-8 hours a day, and often fed meals that are less appetizing than old-style C-rations. Who are disciplined and regulated and regimented, even as they are being brainwashed that government provides for them, and their parents do not. And brainwashed, indoctrinated, instead of being educated. And their teachers and the school staff, who are both corrupted by the power they wield over the students, and dulled to the point of madness by being in the system. And the parents, who see the lessons they try to teach their children, and the example they try to set for their offspring, negated by the efforts of the schools.

The vice-principal is a typical apparatchik, spouting the justification of far too many in evil systems: “rules are rules.” Or in the original German, “befehl ist befehl.” (Orders are orders.)

Look around us today. More and more of the younger generations are socialists or outright communists: the supplier of the street mob which responds to, supports, and takes the orders of the Woke, transnational progressives who plan and are working to implement a new world order. The government-ruined, theft-funded schools are the primary mechanism for making them all good little foot-soldiers of the Regressive counter-revolutionaries here in the States.

The public school systems in virtually every State, every county, and every community is responsible for not letting you, your parents, your children, or many others from actually owning your own homes, or for that matter, the land on which your businesses are located, or where you grow crops and raise livestock. The property taxes are insane, and the cause is politicians and gullible voters who believe the solution for providing a good education for children is to throw more and more money at the educrats, the beltway bandits, and the other parasites.

Is it not time for that to end?
