Good morning. Again a raft of cop abuse and school abuse from across the nation. Dream of a land where peace officers are limited to night watchmen and private firms hired to investigate real crimes, and schools are competing for parents to send their children there (or come to the home). And a land where we respect privacy and people in general, and don’t have to worry about people democratically voting to take away our liberties.
We’ve read how panicked the FBI and various other police/occupation agencies over the thought that Apple and Google are no longer letting them hack into everyone’s phones. This latest article in Emergency Management magazine, though favorable to the cop-panic, still points out that not ALL of this is new and NOT ALL police forces are panicked about it and demanding the companies cooperate. “Law enforcement is still trying to determine how the heightened encryption will affect their investigations. And multiple local law-enforcement sources told the San Jose Mercury News that the new policy is a continuation of ongoing difficulties they have had in getting compliance from Apple while carrying out search warrants involving its customers. They described long delays and a lengthy backlog in responding to law-enforcement requests, but declined to speculate on the reasons behind that occurrence. San Francisco police offered a measured reaction to the new policy. ‘It does make it challenging. But we’re not in the business of dictating policy for private companies,’ spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said. ‘Although it could impact investigations, there are other ways to obtain information.’” I don’t know if I like SFPD’s idea of “other ways” but still…
From Emergency Management magazine also comes this timely and informative article about using demographic data to combat gun violence. “To illustrate data’s emergent role, Papachristos spotlighted his research on city criminal networks that analyzed 3,700-plus “high-risk” individuals. Based on five years of police record data, Papachristos said Chicago — a city ranked highest for homicides at 413 deaths in 2013 — could attribute 85 percent of gun deaths and injuries to less than 4 percent of the city’s entire population (the other 15 percent of injuries and deaths were related to domestic violence and stray bullet killings). Likewise, when mapped, the geographies of gun violence concentrated themselves in isolated pockets of the city — small neighborhoods with predominantly black populations.” The solution, of course, is to disarm the other 96% of the population, at least according to the people behind the articles. Of course, their attempts to lock up the 4% are not proving successful. Chicago supposedly reflects other cities, such as that cesspool called New Orleans, and the solutions suggested are similar. One more argument to move out of the cities, especially if we can only find a way to keep the criminal element IN the cities. And by that, I don’t mean the people that kill, but the politicians that are as stupid as these.
The family’s car is stolen, the thief lies about finding drugs in the car, the cops and judge “believe him” and use that as an excuse for a no-knock dynamic entry raid which the man assumes is the criminal returning again to steal more. He grabs a gun, but never mind, the murdering thugs shoot up the family’s home and kill him through an interior wall… then claim that they shouted warnings and demands. Just another state-sanctioned murder by a criminal gang of uniformed thugs with the cooperation of a thieving druggie and a Nazgul. Who is next? You, your family, your friends or neighbors?
I discussed this story some columns ago but Political Outcast has a great summary of just how scummy the DEA behaved in this case, and the flimsy excuse for stealing an accused woman’s identity and impersonating her on Facebook.
More police brutality, this time breaking into a vehicle and tasering then dragging out a PASSENGER because he could not furnish ID, when the cops stopped the car for a seatbelt violation. No doubt, deadly force will be used by these cops for a burned-out license plate light, and running a stop sign merits roadside execution, all in the interests of traffic safety and their own power madness.
Nebraska’s Lincoln School District has instructed its teachers to stop referring to students by “gendered expressions” such as “boys and girls,” and use “gender inclusive” ones such as “purple penguins” instead. “Don’t use phrases such as ‘boys and girls,’ ‘you guys,’ or ‘ladies and gentlemen.’ (That last which I admit could be construed as lying or being totally divorced from reality.) This, I suppose, goes along with unisex toilets or “transgendered” students doing it where ever that they feel like that day, as the education dictatorship tries ever harder to destroy society.
Mama’s Note: It actually gets harder to believe some of this as time goes by, when it should be easier… but the idea of being called a purple penguin instead of a boy or girl is really loopy. Do any of these PC idiots really think that boys and girls don’t already know exactly who and what they are? Some may even be a bit confused about their sex, but they know perfectly well they are not penguins. I have a feeling this sort of thing leaves them with ever less respect for the “adults” at school. And, in a way, this is a good thing. Maybe they’ll grow up to question “authority” seriously. Sadly, not all will survive doing so.
Uhoh, so this is “democracy:” Surveys show that 51% of Democrats support making some speech illegal, while only 49 percent of Republicans and 53% of “Independents” (which probably includes Libertarians but not Constitutionalists) are against making some speech a crime. The primary cause would be “hate speech,” which most people define as “something someone says about some group that I don’t like them saying.” And worse, too many see the right of free speech as something granted by the (dead-letter) Constitution, and not an unalienable right which is essentially human.
It is a reverse in the usual roles, and one that should scare a lot of people. A female Kurdish fighter carried out a suicide bomb attack against Caliphate jihadists outside the embattled Syrian border town of Kobane on Sunday, a monitor said. Expect more of this, I fear.
