Funny you should think that

By Nathan Barton

It is so very easy to get attacked for opinions and stands which are not politically correct in today’s society and government-tyrannized states. There are issues on which lovers of liberty, self-governors, may disagree, at least until all aspects of the situation are analyzed and discussed. I think this is one of them.

The American College of Pediatricians has recently published a paper entitled “Gender Ideology Harms Children,” which in essence says that the promotion of transgenderism by government and in public schools (government-run, tax-funded or GRTF schools) is a severe form of child abuse.

It is tempting to quote the entire statement here, but I will resist that and publish both portions. For any one who thinks that I am expressing an opinion here that is contrary to liberty or to individual rights, or expressing a religious opinion based on “myths” and “traditions,” PLEASE go to their website and read the whole damning paper.

“1. Human sexuality is an objective biological binary trait: “XY” and “XX” are genetic markers of male and female, respectively – not genetic markers of a disorder. The norm for human design is to be conceived either male or female. Human sexuality is binary by design with the obvious purpose being the reproduction and flourishing of our species. This principle is self-evident. …

“8. Conditioning children into believing that a lifetime of chemical and surgical impersonation of the opposite sex is normal and healthful is child abuse. Endorsing gender discordance as normal via public education and legal policies will confuse children and parents, leading more children to present to “gender clinics” where they will be given puberty-blocking drugs. This, in turn, virtually ensures that they will “choose” a lifetime of carcinogenic and otherwise toxic cross-sex hormones, and likely consider unnecessary surgical mutilation of their healthy body parts as young adults.”

And in a footnote responding to those who attacked this position of the ACP,

“Our opponents advocate a new scientifically baseless standard of care for children with a psychological condition (GD) that would otherwise resolve after puberty for the vast majority of patients concerned. Specifically, they advise: affirmation of children’s thoughts which are contrary to physical reality; the chemical castration of these children prior to puberty with GnRH agonists (puberty blockers which cause infertility, stunted growth, low bone density, and an unknown impact upon their brain development), and, finally, the permanent sterilization of these children prior to age 18 via cross-sex hormones.”

Obviously there are religion and social implications to this, but once again, we see a situation in which modern government, more corrupt, self-serving, and power-hungry than ever, is intentionally abusing children and setting up conditions in which their agents (unwittingly or not) are carrying out abuse that deserves the most severe penalties. The “transgender rights” movement is not only an attack on the children ensnared in its diabolical schemes, but upon society itself. (Please note, I am using “diabolical” in a non-religious sense here.)

Lovers of liberty believe strongly in the idea that “my liberty stops at your nose” and “zero initiation of aggression.” We also understand the medical injunction “first, do no harm.” This is most certainly a situation in which we must be careful and not enlist ourselves and our political allies in supporting practices of corrupt medical providers, schools, and the rest of government, which lead directly to harming of children. While we may not agree with those (like Bruce Jenner) who are adults and are convinced they are transgender, we recognize their right to make stupid mistakes and do horrible things to their own bodies, but to allow this kind of child abuse betrays our fundamental principles.

Please, think on these things.

Mama’s Note: Yes indeed, a most horrific new wrinkle in the political insanity of our age. I have been intimately involved with a number of adult “transgender” people, and a great many of them have gone on to kill themselves. They eventually discover that they have mutilated themselves, damaged or destroyed their natural families, and have no way to go back… But they have every right to choose for themselves, however much they may regret it later.

To deliberately do this to children before they have any hope of choosing for themselves is criminal in the extreme.

Not my president. I don’t want any “president” at all. Most certainly not my “lord and god.” I just wonder how many of the OTHER 200 million people who didn’t “vote” feel the same way. And no “president” (or politician) in US history has been any different, in any real way. They may mean to rule well, but they mean to rule.

False. There are XY individuals who are anatomically female, XX individuals who are anatomically male, and various trisomies of the marker chromosomes in question.

Personally, I am skeptical of “gender dysphoria” claims relating to the very young. But those who are opposed across the board to such claims seem to be playing the same game as those supportive of such claims: They’re just making up whatever shit they need to make up to prove themselves “right.”

I’m more or less with you, Thomas. In the first place, I have zero control over what others do… and don’t want any control, but I would seriously decline to associate or do business with people who inflicted this insanity on their children. I don’t have the authority to do anything else.

Yes, there are all sorts of genetic anomalies, only a few needing any kind of intervention. I’m glad it is not my job to decide which is which. But I would certainly call any sort of gender manipulation in children a monstrous idea. If they wish to do that when they are able to take responsibility for themselves, nobody else’s business.
