Don’t believe it…

By Nathan Barton

Yesterday, the POTUS-to-be had a news conference and gave a lot of us a great deal of pleasure by attacking the media, including those right there in the room with him, for their lies and overall behavior. It was fun to hear, and even MORE fun to hear the media squeal.

Sadly, it isn’t only the mainstream media (MSM) that spreads lies and propagandizes its readers and viewers. Too many conservative and libertarian outlets, let’s call them the “Alt-Media,” do the same.

Sometimes, like with the MSM, the Alt-Media publish lies and propaganda (even agit-prop) out of ignorance. As disgusting and pitiful as it is, there are some writers (and editors and publishers) who are just too stupid and ignorant to be… writers, editors, or publishers! Not uneducated. Iindeed, too many of them are so “educated” that they are accepted blindly by people taught to respect people for their academic achievements. And so arrogant that ancient kings seem modest by comparison.

Sometimes it is a simple mistake; an error in judgment – trusting an untrustworthy source, or missing one side of the story. But sometimes, it is very intentional. Smart people with high levels of knowledge set out purposefully to lie with the intent of promoting themselves and their ideas, gain power, and illicitly gain wealth and prestige.

And it can happen to the best of sources. (Mama Liberty tries very hard to make sure that what I and other writers (and she herself) publish in The Price of Liberty is true, accurate, and when biased, biased in favor of liberty, self-government, anarchism, free will, and the free-market.)

Mama’s Note: Yes indeed, I work hard to present the best of liberty, self government, anarchism and free will. We don’t publish anything that actually promotes non-voluntary government or electoral politics, so I guess that makes The Price of Liberty a very biased rag. Bite me. šŸ™‚ But we won’t ever knowingly publish lies. Ever.

BuzzFeed’s recent stupidity is one big example, brought to national attention. A “failing piece of garbage” is a mild rebuke.

Another regards the current regime’s declaration of several new “national monuments,” the culmination of eight years of bad actions, but presented with many errors (and outright lies) by media. Consider this article from Media Resource Center, a “conservative” news and commentary site as another example. The article reports “Obama seizes land three times the size of Texas in eight years.” I suppose it sells page views, but isn’t true. The FedGov (the tyrant or not) didn’t “seize” that land – it had been seized by administrations and Congresses decades or even more than a century ago. All the current regime did (and that is bad enough on its own) is take federally-owned land and shift it from one file drawer to another, further denying the people and businesses of the Fifty States the use of those lands in many different ways. Bogus claims about “seizures” just makes the media outlets look (sound) stupid, and leads people to mistrust them. Just as is happening with CNN and the rest of the “mainstream media.”

One final (and ongoing) example is the efforts by the Washington Post and many others regarding false claims about events and origins of events; who did what and why and who got it done to them. Consider this article last week from The Intercept pointing fingers at the WaPo for its stupidity, and crowing over its getting slapped down. Again, we are seeing this in the past several days with the infamous Trump press conference and the events leading up to it.

What it boils down to is that, short of confirmation in other, multiple ways, we simply cannot believe anything published by any “news source” – and especially ANY government agency, right down to the local animal protection district.

I think the MSM publishes Dren just to cause discussion and stir the pot and the sheeple fall for it. Tramp, sorry Trump, fell for it. How that man can talk with both feet in his mouth is beyond me. Waite: Berry, Bush 2, Clinton, Bush1, Reagan, they all did it. Wake the frell up, it is a BS and government controlled.

The fun part is watching so much of this implode. More and more people do not believe much or any of it. Unfortunately, they don’t understand why, at least not yet. But we can hope. šŸ™‚
