The nation is “America’s First and Oldest Ally.” Massive support with armies and ships, provided to the rebels for half-a-decade from the Ancien Regime in Paris, allowed the struggling thirteen United States to win their war of independence against the United Kingdom – Great Britain. Although the FedGov and the various revolutionary regimes in France were at war with each other briefly a few years later, and only de-facto allies during the period of the first Napoleon, and although DC made serious threats against the next Napoleon as he adventured in the CSA’s and USA’s backyard in Mexico a half-century later, starting in 1917, the alliance between the two empires has been relatively steady.
De Gaulle’s copping an attitude in the 1960-1980 period was a minor row between friends. Today, France and its empire (yes, it still has one, though wearing sunglasses and a really ugly sweater) is nearly as tight an ally with the FedGov in DC as Her Majesty’s guvmint in London.
Now WikiLeaks has released a treasure trove of confidential CIA documents from “Vault 7” in a move sure to rile, to the point of stupidity, both Dems and GOPers in DC, conservatives everywhere, and even a whole lot of Tranzis. “Vital government secrets” have been made public, and as usual, the picture these documents paint isn’t pretty.
Although there are many things to be learned from the contents of Vault 7, one thing jumped out quickly in the initial reviews of the thousands of documents. The CIA (presumably at the urging of the Obummer regime in the White House) treated America’s Oldest Ally as an enemy. Spying on government and political operations in Paris (and presumably elsewhere) during France’s 2012 elections is NOT what friendly, allied nations are supposed to do. Yet DC did it, in another example of the incredible stupidity of FedGov politicians and technocrats and their minions.
Indeed, if the same level of hacking and spying were done on, say, Venezuela or China or North Korea – or even that nest of vipers, Saudi Arabia – and then revealed, it would indeed be a cause for war against DC. A war which those same idiotic politicians and bureaucrats and “secret agent” men (and women) would drag the rest of the people of the Fifty States into.
Given French pride (and often a lack of rationality), that could happen now, at least in “non-military” ways such as currency wars, information wars (hacking and the like), and even trade wars. Paris might be able to even draw Rome and Berlin along with them. At the very least, France will cozy up to Moscow more (much more) than our rapid anti-Russian politicos and other warmongers in DC would like. And France has been friends (on-and-off, admittedly) with Czars and Commissars for a long time, too.
It is incredible just how stupid those idiots in DC can be, and especially how much so in the last eight years. I don’t think that Trump can change that mindset, or get people who are NOT stupid to be able to do anything effective about it.
But that is just me.
Mama’s Note: All the real problems would be solved if everyone simply minded their own business and worked in voluntary association with others as needed. Unfortunately, a very large number of people across the globe would have to give up their lust to control the lives and property of their neighbors. And their neighbors would have to accept the revolutionary idea that they alone are responsible for their lives and safety.

Allies or enemies – France and America
