It seems that the State of Texas (nee Republic of Texas) is rejecting the decision of the United States Supreme Court (a 5-4 ruling) that everyone understands will allow the Border Patrol to cut barbed tape at a 47-acre park in Eagle Pass, Texas.
In a story in the pro-FedGov Texas Tribune, it is claimed that Governor Abbott provides no proof that Uncle Joe and his regime is failing to enforce federal laws by allowing and assisting tens of thousands of people – migrants – to jump the border (river) and enter the State of Texas. Clearly, the media supports the “supremacy” of the FedGov over the States, even when the FedGov refuses to enforce its own laws. And indeed, breaks its own laws.
A lot of folks (including that same Texas Tribune) are saying the defiance of the Nazgul by Texas is reaching a crescendo that will result in a new Battle of Eagle Pass. A violent confrontation between FedGov agents – possibly even military – and Texan troops.
Indeed, some lines have already been drawn firmly and not just in the sand or mud of the Rio Grande Valley. Florida has already sent troops to Eagle Pass (and other places in Texas) to support Texan troops. Oklahoma has just stated that it stands with Texas. Many expect other State governors and legislators to join in that declaration: over the past few years, several States have deployed troops to aid Texan attempts to control a border that DC will not. (Video of Texan combat troops marching in Eagle Pass can be seen here.)
Interestingly, this confrontation is escalating even as (mainstream media claims) the State of Texas has turned against the so-called Texit effort (the Texas National Movement) by denying its petition to place a secession question on the GOP primary ballot this year.
Oddly, this would actually be a second Battle of Eagle Pass. The first was in 1857, when Texas Rangers fought and defeated another group of migrants crossing the Rio Grande into Texas. That group was a warband of Kickapoo Indians. The Rangers clearly committed an act that (according to the regime of Uncle Joe and apparently five Nazgul) was illegal under the Constitution. They should have deferred to US troops from Brownsville (Fort Brown) or somewhere else.
That battle was far from the only one fought by Texan troops over the years against illegal crossings – even if not described as invasions – both before and after the War between the States. That Eagle Pass battle was fought more than a decade after Texas joined the Union, and four years before Texas seceded.
(Disclaimer: the publishers of TPOL had a relative, a Texas Ranger, who was killed in a battle in 1861 near Laredo, against a “band of banditos” who had crossed the Rio Grande to raid farms and towns. Clearly, with perfect Woke hindsight, the group of migrants seeking to escape from intolerable economic and political conditions in Mexico were mislabeled. No doubt due to racism against people of color.)
So, is the heightening crisis at Eagle Pass the opening (or continuing) moves in what will inevitably be labeled as a Second Civil War? Or will the current confrontation be resolved “peacefully” in some way? By DC backing down? By Texas backing down? Or a defacto “national divorce” which essentially would split red and blue States? (And perhaps, if the denouement can be postponed until November, will everything be papered over if The Donald wins? Or if Joe (or Michelle or Kammie) win, will the big blowup happen then?
With what we understand of how Uncle Joe’s mind (or that of his controller’s) works, it is distinctly possible that Joe will try to do an Ike. Eisenhower nationalized the Arkansas National Guard back in 1953 to force the integration of schools in Little Rock. Will DC try to nationalize the Texas National Guard to order them to leave Eagle Pass and other border crossing points – and confront Texas Department of Public Safety officers (and no doubt Texas Rangers)? (That option is already being pushed – by a Democratic Texas Congresscrittur.) Or will the Pentagon order federal troops from Fort Cavados (formerly Fort Hood) and Fort Bliss to take action against TX ARNG units to “clear the border” and allow unrestricted migrant travel? And possibly even besiege Austin and attempt to arrest Texan officials to be tried for treason? If so, which other States will join Texas in defying DC and Uncle Joe? The Donald has already urged “all States” to send troops to aid Texas.
Abbott and the State government have a lot of support in Texas itself, including 51 counties who have declared states of emergency over a “border invasion” even while DC continues to proclaim that the border is secure. But Austin also faces a lot of opposition in Texas as well: Democratic strongholds and politicians – and their supporters – who (according to the pro-State forces) seem to have drunk the KoolAid and are fully Woke. Of course, officers and soldiers at Fort Cavados, Fort Bliss, and Fort Sam Houston may not all obey DC’s orders to go up against fellow Americans and Texans. Ditto for USAF and TX ANG (Air National Guard) airmen.

War between some States and the FedGov approaching?

No answers, at least not now. But stay tuned.
