We’ve all read the labels and shelf-stickers telling us about the store brands and generic versions of various foods and drugs, right? “Compare to BIG BRAND NAME whatever.” Sometimes it is true, and that can save a lot of money for shoppers. Indeed, sometimes the generic or store brand is actually superior to the well-hyped and pricier brand name products.
It is much the same in government and political circles, isn’t it?
More and more we read comparisons of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (the FBI, the Feebes, the G-men, etc.) to such infamous organizations as the Ost-Zone (DDR) Stasi and perhaps the KGB and its predecessors.
I think there is strong evidence in 2024 that there is an organization far more like the FBI than those evil organizations. And it is much more than the idea that the FBI is an evil organization. (As lovers of liberty: free-market anarchists – we see all government organizations as being inherently evil. Even when they sometimes do good things.)as it and those are.
That organization? The Pretorian Guard of the zombified Senate and People of Rome: the Roman Republic.
We who love and study history – and even a lot of gamers and just plain folks – know about the Pretorians.
Paul Craig Roberts’ commentary (a while back, but still relevant) on the total corruption of the American FedGov points this out: the FBI is an integral part of the present effort to destroy American society and our future. As individuals, families, and groups.
We can agree with Mr. Roberts on a lot. He has some excellent and important points. But we here at TPOL draw the line in his last paragraph: “To protect Democrats from real crimes federal officials commit perjury, and to falsely accuse President Trump they commit perjury again. One wonders if Republicans understand the fight they are in.”
Mr. Roberts, the Republicans don’t care – because they (1) do their share of lying and participate in the ever-greater corruption. We can, among other things, trace the FBI’s roots to the Pinkertons of Abe Lincoln’s time, and the anti-liberty, anti-federal growth of federal policing in the 1920s, 1950s, and 1970s. And especially the Bush regimes. Far better people have aptly compared the FBI of Hoover (and FDR) with the NKVD of Beria (and Stalin). But those organizations were not truly kingmakers. Not the way the Praetorians of the 1st and 2nd centuries Anno Domini were. But it appears that the Feebes do meet that rarified status.
The Whiteheads help point out that the FBI is not the only feral-gov standing army/law enforcement (well, supposedly law enforcement) agency that is busy implementing a still stronger American tyranny. Courtesy of Congress and the White House (with the acceptance of the Nine Nazgul), the Border Patrol, Customs and Border Protection, and other entities under the immoral and ever-more-powerful Department of Homeland Security) are turning more and more of the States into a Constitution-free zone. A zone in which it seems the only people who have rights are the thugs who work for the FedGov and the border jumpers swarming over the border.
Still others have pointed out the growing corruption of federal agencies across the board, as well as the increasingly heavily-armed federal agencies from the National Park Service to the Department of Education. Not kingmakers but certainly tools of tyranny: the jack-booted thugs of the FedGov. Echoed, imitated, and sometimes mentored by a various of State and even local police agencies: standing armies in all but name. Whether we talking of the New Mexico State Police, or that of Pennsylvania. The NYPD or traditional Southern redneck Sheriff and his goons.
We here at TPOL argue that humans have matured enough to NOT PUT UP WITH THIS NONSENSE ANYMORE. Human government – the mandatory kind fueled by aggression, by violence and the threat of violence – has always been corrupt. From the time of Nimrod to the time of Vladimir Putin and Uncle Joe Biden: NOW! As governments ripen (and rot) their corruption grows and grows. Whether it is a township board deciding whose roads get plowed first, or that greedy, power-mad debating society called the United Nations Organization. The FBI (and its predecessors) and its bosses and leadership has always been corrupt, and has probably had the power to be the kingmaker in the past. But that corruption and power has grown steadily. And while it may have been used in the past (see 1963, 1974), it almost certainly is being attempted in 2024.
And when the FBI wins, when corrupt politicians and powers behind the throne win? People lose. Because liberty is lost: freedom loses.
Despite its corruption, the Pretorian Guard once served many useful purposes. Some of those went away as it became more and more corrupt. Even though there were a few good benefits of its existence, they were far outweighed by the evils.
We believe the same thing is true of the FBI. It must go.
