With the breakdown of negotiations and the loss of patience and control, as we see combat resume in South Asia and the Middle East, does it hurt to talk about the objectives of Muslims? Especially of those we label as “Islamists” today?
One correspondent suggested that we again (as so often we do) look to Europe to see what we can learn.
Let us start with recent events. Just a few days back, a Muslim politician publically proclaimed: “Belgians must leave Belgium.” Saliha Rais said: “If people don’t like seeing hijab and niqabs.. if you don’t want to see us any longer, go elsewhere, get out.”
(In response, Elon Musk says: “If tolerance means the end of our civilization, then we can’t be tolerant. When Europe will regret having bartered its own principles and values for cheap labor, it will be too late.”
For once, we don’t have any disagreement with Musk. Indeed, he is echoing the realization, too late, of his African forebearers. Centuries ago, the lands today called South Africa were pretty much an empty land with only a few desert-dwelling nomads (Khoikhoi and San), and perhaps a few tiny fishing villages: far less than what existed in central North America, for example. (Do not believe the websites which claim the Mapungubwe Kingdom was in South Africa; it was centered in modern Zimbabwe.) The Dutch established the Cape Colony in 1652, and lost it to the Brits in the early 1800s. Afrikaaners fleeing Brit rule, and the new polity began expanding to the north, and encountered the Zulu, an empire expanding to the south.
This was a classic “conversion engagement” – two invading colonial/imperial forces running head-on into each other. This was about 1830, and decades of combat resulted in a British (and somewhat Afrikaaner/Boer) victory. But Pretoria made a serious mistake: they allowed the defeated Zulu to still settle “peacefully” in South Africa to provide a badly-needed workforce. Skip forward another century, and the roles are reversed, and the lies about history now official doctrine. As we note, Musk’s ancestors should have learned a bitter lesson.
Now, we are not much more fans of Musk (here at TPOL) than we are of The Donald. Wealth, ego, arrogance, immoral lives and life styles, all are grating on us. But when we have to compare them to the actual, likely alternatives? We will take them any time.
Let us remember that the Brits and Afrikaaners made the same mistake that the Romans made in the era of AD200-AD500: allowing defeated and un-integrated “barbarians” to settle inside the Roman frontiers and provide both a workforce and security against worse still outside. And the collision of two invading and frankly, imperial, forces has happened often: including the conflict between the Comanche and the expanding Spanish-Mexican-Texian-American population in Texas.
These are virtually never a win-win situation. Indeed, over the longer term, they can be a “lose-lose” case.
Which is what we have in Europe, and even the UK today. And what we also are seeing rise once more in North America. Including a dozen or more States of the Union. Just this century, a conflict from as early as 1590 through the 1890s has again started to balloon.
KOTA TV and the Rapid City Journal report that black and Indigenous organizers launched the Day One Movement June 29 in South Dakota, unveiling a bill of essential rights focused on land back and reparations. The radical Lakota “LandBack” movement claims that all of the Americas are stolen land, taken from the “Indigenous” (AmerInd) “rightful owners.” Black Lives Matter and many other extremist “African-American” groups demand that, since even the NY Times and big universities tell them that the United States was built on the back of black slaves (the “Stolen Hands” in the sign), they must be paid reparations (cash, gold, or Bitcoin, of course) for what their ancestors suffered and the legacy of racism that replaced slavery.

One man wrote: “It ignores treaties and reservation agreements with the Federal Government. Native Americans have citizenship, voting rights and all protections of the law given to any other citizen. If they’re looking for repayment, the winners and losers of old conflicts are all dead. Move forward or give up. Stop acting for payback from folks who are alive today and ain’t never got involved.”
Indeed.
A lady wrote: “Talk about discrimination! Some people create their own and want respect too!! No way! Just keeps anger growing and creates more resentment, not letting their nation move forward and grow. Look at the benefits that are received and not appreciated. Our kids and grand-kids we be paying forever for all those. Shall we give land back to Mexico, Canada? Let us even go further back France, England Etc. Get the point?”
That is not a bad point: Only if the Brits give the land that they “stole” (think Normans and Saxons and Angles) to the “indigenous Britons” – who are supposedly the Welsh and Celts (like Scots and Irish). Unless they too are conquerors who “stole” the land. And if the French (Franks) give their country back to more Celts and … did we happen to mention Neanderthals? But we notice, the Muslim Arabs are not being told to give back the land they took from the people of Judea, eh? Nor do they talk about making Mexicans (with more than 51% European blood quanta) go back to Europe and let the Aztec etc. have their land back.
We admit that many injustices were done in the past. But is it not time to get back to the basic facts: we are all created equal in the Lord’s eyes, and we cannot travel back in time to “fix things” which can’t be fixed. People deserve freedom and liberty as individuals and families (and yes, even businesses) and not based on ancestry or past abuses by enemies of liberty!

“Get out. Now!”
