Good morning, and welcome to June. Children have been in the news the past few days.
Everyone knows that children can and must be protected from their parents first and foremost. We have a number of stories about that, starting with a continuing one in Africa. The Embassy of Sudan in Washington, D.C. is using the death-for-apostasy conviction of a Christian mother of two, who is the wife of a U.S. citizen, to “emphasize that freedom of choice is the cornerstone” of Islam. The people of Sudan are soooo fortunate to have Islam as their religion, instead of being forced to convert to Judaism or Christianity at the point of the sword, as those in the West are. And their society is kept pure through great effort, just like in other Muslim countries.
Moving to Asia: In Pakistan, a pregnant woman was stoned to death by her family, as cops and court employees watched in front of a courthouse, because her family did not want her to marry the man. This kind of honor killing is very common, with 869 women similarly murdered in Pakistan in 2013. Apparently one of those was the deceased wife of the man whose wife was killed by her family. It is indeed fortunate for the women of Pakistan that Pakistan is an Islamic country and that Islam so elevates the status of women, else like in America and Brazil and elsewhere, there would tens of thousands of honor killings of women, instead of just a few hundred. (Pakistan has a population of about 187 million: this 869 dead would be 1500 dead American women.
And now a few from the Fifty States:
First, a Hawaiian Nazgul has convicted a a father who disciplined his son by making him walk home from school. Via The Garden Island: A Kilauea man was given probation and a fine Wednesday in 5th Circuit Court for punishing his son by making him walk a mile for not answering his questions — a form of discipline a judge called “old school” and no longer appropriate. Robert Demond was sentenced to a one-year probation, a $200 fine and to a child parenting class for a misdemeanor charge of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor. It was stupid enough that a cop should have arrested the father, and filed charges over the incident. While both Debby and I had, over the years, had to walk more than a mile to or from school more than once, even our sons had to do that now and then – and one time a whole SIX miles. Would that be SIX years’ probation for us today, or just three apiece?
But in Georgia, a military veteran has been charged, arrested, and released on bail for child cruelty and endangerment for punishing his 4′-6″, 145-pound 16-year-old son by making him carry a 23-pound concrete block for as far as three miles. And making him carry more of the stones from one side of their backyard to the other. The fat slob of a police spokesman seemed to find this hideous action to be nearly a capital crime. The TV station compared it to parents beating their three-year-old twins bloody. Only a military veteran could be such an evil father. I am sure that the SWAT teams of Georgia are rehearsing for their 0300 raids on the homes of Boy Scout leaders to bring them to justice for making the Scouts work on their hiking and camping merit badges. Four and a half feet tall and 145-pounds? That is a body-mass index of 35: severely obese.
How long must this go on? A 19-month-old child was burned in paramilitary anti-drug raid conducted “for the children” according to the scumbag that authorized it and commands the “Sheriff’s Office” that conducted it. He’s “sorry” but won’t stop doing it. William Grigg at LewRockwell.com condemns it and doesn’t pull any punches. There is no difference between this and an Afghan or Pakistan child killed by one of the Fuehrer’s drones, or between a child killed because his parent’s car got caught in a stupid high-speed chase by cops going after someone with a burned-out license plate light. The voters of the county and Georgia need to step up and end this evil. Now.
On to other news:
I guess I am glad this is Manchester, England, and NOT Manchester, New Hampshire, where Her Majesty’s police seriously think that a man wearing a pig mask is “impersonating a police officer” and arrested him for it. Really? How much do they have to pay the National Health Service each year to surgically amputate their sense of humor? But it makes as much sense as the police and the courts do in the US.
A US official states that Russia has withdrawn most of its troops from the Ukrainian border, but seven battalions, amounting to thousands of men, remain, a U.S. defense official said on Friday. U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, in Singapore to attend a weekend security conference. This is still considered evil for the Russians to have ANY troops ANY where, whether on the border or in the Urals or in Moscow. (Of course, how many “military troops” (not DHS or ICE or whatever) do the Fifty State have along either the Canadian or Mexican border?) It is obvious that DC hopes to goad Russia into starting a real war, while continuing to lackadaisically support the Ukraine regime’s bloody crackdown on anyone speaking Russian.
California lost 410,000 residents to Nevada and Arizona between 2000 and 2010, taking nearly $12 billion in adjusted growth income with them, as both residents and businesses flee the state. This is nothing new, obviously, and has almost certainly been speeding up since 2010, as California’s government grows more mad and the laws and costs of living in the Golden State explode. Yet, the legislature continues to run amuk in passing new laws and creating new taxes while spending more and more. More and more people are bailing out of California, and yet the politicians just don’t seem to understand why – especially given that Arizona and Nevada have their own serious political problems.
A cop of some kind was trolling Facebook and found what he thought was evidence that a local woman was illegally walking her dog in a nearby dog-park (illegal because she didn’t have a fifty-dollar-a-year “dog park pass”), so he sent her a ticket. She won, but the mere fact that this local district is having its cops spy on Facebook for this is a nasty reminder that the police state is alive, well, and growing in Illinois.
Mama’s Note: “Dog parks?” I just drove through 250 miles of almost completely empty Wyoming grasslands and rolling hills. Dog park? What is the matter with people? Get OUT of the cities, folks. Such evil can only increase.
