Good morning! On the road again, but some things to think about as we go!
Starting out with the election in the House of Representatives: As anticipated, House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy became House Majority Leader as members of the GOP caucus selected the California Republican to replace Eric Cantor Thursday afternoon. AND as predicted by me and others: this means NO change at all to the hypocrisy and pathway to destruction of the GOP in Congress and elsewhere. The man seems to be a West Coast version of Cantor, and obviously knows where the bodies are buried.
Ah, a simple solution for a scofflaw? Not the Nazgul or the Jack-booted Thugs’ fault? A woman thrown into jail because she could not pay thousands of dollars of fines and interest after being convicted of aiding and abetting the “truancy” of her children (15 years ago) died only 24 hours after being jailed, supposedly of “natural causes.” It smells to high heaven, and I wonder if anyone really tracks just how many people die in jails in our wonderful land of freedom?
Only eight more to go: Apparently, Ms. Hillary Clinton, almost fully annointed to be the Fuehrer’s successor in 2017, has demonstrated her anger, not just about the evils of automatic weapons (and her seeming lack of knowledge – even after EIGHT years in the White House?), but also against Americans who dare to support gun rights. “I’m well aware that this is a hot political subject,” she said. “And again, I will speak out no matter what role I find myself in. But I believe that we need a more thoughtful conversation. We cannot let a minority of people – and it’s, that’s what it is, it is a minority of people – hold a viewpoint that terrorizes the majority of people.” That’s right: “hold a viewpoint.” What other viewpoints can terrorize “a majority?” Not certain which article of the Bill of Rights she will tackle next. Perhaps that nasty old prohibition on self-incrimination?
Colorado’s piece-of-garbage excuse for a governor seems to be channeling the Fuehrer, at least last week when he told at least a half-dozen lies to a group of Colorado sheriffs regarding his signing into law anti-gun laws last year. That was in addition to speaking in the royal “we.” (He ain’t an editor, I know.) At least a few of the sheriffs called him on the lies, which probably means that they will be punished in various ways over the next few months. As one pointed out, he was willing to talk to Bloomberg but not any of them. (He denied talking to Bloomie, but phone records prove that he did so.)
Not so good news: The Obama administration has been quietly advising local police not to disclose details about surveillance technology they are using to sweep up basic cellphone data from entire neighborhoods, according to AP. Citing security reasons, the U.S. (perhaps the DOJ and that thug-of-thugs who runs it?) has intervened in routine state public records cases and criminal trials regarding use of the technology. This has resulted in police departments withholding materials or heavily censoring documents in rare instances when they disclose any about the purchase and use of such powerful surveillance equipment.
Mama’s Note: Yes indeed… our “transparent government.” A darn good reason not to trust a cell phone for anything. And another great technology hijacked by the controllers.
Nathan: Issues of government duplicity and tyranny aside, I guess I see this as a need for better encryption and care in communicating with people. And encouraging local agencies to get more ticked off with fedgov agencies – always something easy to do.
A ten-year-old white girl on a scooter on a sidewalk in a residential area is attacked by a thirteen-year-old black girl, who kicks and hits and screams at the little “cracker” with racist terms. Hate crime? Apparently not, even when some unknown person was hiding on the porch of the black girl’s house and videos the attack. The parents tried to resolve the issue with the black girl’s grandparents, but got nowhere and (perhaps foolishly) went to the police. But it is just “juvenile” and nothing serious. Right. I am sure that the thug-of-thugs in DOJ has people working out how the 10-year-old and her parents can be sued for discrimination and violating the 13-year-old thugette’s civil rights.
Speaking of civil rights: Wall Street Journal has pushed back against the transgender delusion, now that three states have passed laws forbidding psychiatrists from trying to help children get rid of the feeling that they are different than their gender. These laws are based on superstition. The entire civil rights industry that has sprung up to “support” the alleged “transgender” has the intellectual depth and methods of a cult. But it is no surprise: it is the natural development (long planned and coordinated) of the massive homosexual (GBL->T!) privilege agenda that criminalizes more and more people. Past discrimination against homosexuals was wrong, but the swing of the pendulum this direction is no more right and justified than it would have been to turn the non-black people of slaveholding states into slaves of black people after the War Between The States. The idea of butchering the human body to try to resolve a mental condition just disgusts me, and smells and sounds like the demonology of the Dark Ages. The idea that someone with a severe mental problem cannot be helped because some political decision was made that the condition is “protected” in a perversion of civil rights is just as sickening.
In a story that has been developing for several days, we have learned that hundreds of thousands (possibly as many as two million) people getting ObummerCare subsidies are being contacted and questioned by the IRS. Apparently, they are being ordered to provide proof that they are eligible for the subsidies that they signed up for on-line in that abomination of a website. Among other things, they have to provide birth certificates, HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMAS, drivers licenses, and more. Well, now it seems that the Administration is trying to “fix it.” More specifically and accurately, the Fuehrer’s minions seem to be trying to bury the story and slander people. I have NO LOVE for people who are parasites on the body politic – but I mean more the goons in IRS and the rest of the Executive Branch than the people who are struggling to stay afloat and get help paying for medical care. (I know that there are those who are pure and simple welfare queens, and not just the mega-business Beltway Bandit types, but again the blame is more on government than on the recipients of the dole.) To demand this kind of information, though, is evil and insane. What possible excuse is there for demanding a high school diploma?
Inflation? Nothing to see here, just move along. At the same time as government shills are telling us there is really no significant inflation, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports that meat, poultry, fish & egg price indexes have rocketed to an all-time high last month, in May 2014. I see it in the grocery stores and the cafes – from New Mexico to South Dakota. I hear about it constantly, just like I hear about the poor job market in everyplace but North Dakota. And compare it to the lies coming out of DC and Denver, and even Pierre. This is just another way the government can steal from us.
