WAR? The US DoD said that they are ready to exercise the “military option” against Iran, despite the “agreement” (the bad deal, better than no deal) reached on Tuesday. Israel’s PM emphasized that the State of Israel is “not bound” by any agreement.
Of course, this actually isn’t a “new war” but just an expansion of the continuous war that may indeed be the “Long War” talked about a decade or so ago (but it still has a ways to go to rival that war that started in August 1914 and ended (maybe) in 1991. (Actually, some people have told me that we are still IN that same war, as shown by events in Ukraine and the Balkans.) But things do move faster today than a century ago: the mapmakers did overtime work for decades trying to keep up with the changes, and the blood almost literally could have coated the planet.
So we will have to watch and see. Meanwhile, here is some news and commentary to distract us.
Welfare benefits are taking another big leap forward! Hurrah, hurrah! Now, it appears that the White House will take action to provide broadband internet access to denizens of public housing projects, according to CNSNews.com. Once upon a time, public relief (actually provided originally by private charities and churches) consisted of food and some clothing to the children of those adults who were unemployed. That expanded to cover the whole family, and then free (or very reduced, “Section 8”) housing was provided, and not just food or food stamps, but cash money for other “necessities” of life. Most recently (the last decade or so), free cell-phone service was provided.
Now, free (or “affordable,” whatever that means) internet – broadband at that! – will be given. Of course, it is “foh the chillum” as always, even though schools and libraries already have it. And although there are millions of Americans without high-speed internet that are NOT on welfare, who will continue to pay a hundred dollars or more per month. We can figure that this will be immediately followed by the government providing free (or “affordable”) computers to the welfare classes as well.
Actually, now that I think about it – is there method to their madness? For decades, the underclass have been distracted, at least somewhat, by circuses, in the form of free television broadcasts over the air. Yes, they had to have televisions, but somehow, even the most “destitute” of poverty-stricken, jobless households (I hesitate to call all of them “families”) has been able to get a television. But now, with more and more of the circuses on-line, maybe the powers that be are fearful that free television is not ENOUGH of a circus to keep them distracted, so we must add the millions of “channels” of internet.
Well, on to other things:
It is all, of course, the fault of manmade global warming. CNSNews.com reports it has been 117 months (almost TEN years) since a major hurricane, (Category 3 or more) made landfall in the United States, according to NOAA. This is the longest span of time in which no major hurricane has struck the mainland U.S. in records going back to 1851. The second longest time between major hurricane strikes was the eight years between 1860 and 1869—146 years ago. Ike, Irene, and Sandy were all Cat 1. As a result, billions of dollars have been saved, but no doubt people are getting lazy and failing to prepare properly. And the government has fewer crises with which to make hay.
The Northern Colorado Gazette tells us that efforts to “mainstream” pedophilia (excuse me, pedophiles are now properly called “minor-attracted people”) have picked up since the Nazgul’s (SCOTUS) decision on “same-sex marriage,” and there are growing plans to redefine it as a sexual orientation and not a disorder. While activists for SSM constantly stated that “no way” SSM would lead to either plural marriage or pedophilic legalization, they seem to have been mistaken. The gallop downhill into the sewer continues. But when you consider some things going on, perhaps pedophilia isn’t the worst thing being mainstreamed. Consider the next story.
Who do we believe? The WaPo says: Congressional, state investigations into Planned Parenthood underway after undercover video goes viral. A House committee and at least two states have opened investigations into Planned Parenthood following the release of an undercover video that shows a Planned Parenthood executive graphically discussing the process of aborting a fetus in a way that preserves its organs — and the costs associated with donating those organs to medical researchers. But Rush Limbaugh (as reported by World Net Daily) has a much different view: “The commercial trafficking in any kind of human body parts is a federal crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison, a $500,000 fine, or both. Also, partial-birth abortion is a federal felony, punishable by up to two years in prison. Nucatola admits on hidden camera that Planned Parenthood charges per-specimen for baby body parts, uses illegal partial-birth abortion procedures to get salable parts, and is aware of its own liability for doing so and takes steps to cover it up. Nucatola described how abortion procedures are altered not for the safety of women but to get the most marketable body parts, including intact livers, hearts and heads, which are highly sought by those who procure human body tissue for research. In the video, she speaks in detail about how she meticulously “crushes” above and below the thorax to destroy the baby while leaving its head intact. Nucatola said she “huddles” with her staff in the morning to go over which body parts are requested by buyers and then comes up with a game plan to harvest those organs from the unborn babies that will be aborted that day.” COSTS? Or PROFITS? Sounds to me like Limbaugh has it right. I know, that makes me a nasty ole fake libertarian because I don’t consider an unborn child to be a parasite and don’t believe you have to breathe on your own to be a human being. Regardless of whether it is “profitable” or just has “costs reimbursed,” this is evil and despicable: she sounds like Joseph Mengele.
And it makes the bloodbath in the Ummah (Islamic world), Ukraine and elsewhere look pretty small: each one of those tiny bodies doesn’t have a lot of blood in them; but 1.2 million a year? God forgive us.
Mama’s Note: “…forgive us.” US? Neither you nor I participate in this evil, nor countenance it. According to your scripture, those who do would have to repent and stop the evil in order to be forgiven. Don’t see that happening.
