People don’t like ICE, or so says The Hill (a pandering journalism-light rag that sucks up to politicians) in an article on polling concerning the FedGov’s “Immigrations and Customs Enforcement” agency which includes the jack-booted thugs of the Border Patrol and other thugs. Surprise, surprise.
I wonder if the article is designed to bolster efforts by Dems reported a couple of weeks ago, to “disestablish” the apparently unloved organization.
Tom Knapp has the right of it in a comment he posted on Freedom Net Daily back on 17 JUL. Reporting on what he properly calls a “fake” ICE abolition bill introduced by several House Democrats, reported in The Hill, would just shift the various functions of ICE to other governmental agencies. He opines that this is not really abolition, and that we SHOULD abolish ICE and replace it with nothing. Amen, Tom.
The Hill published in part, “A group of liberal [sic] House Democrats on Thursday introduced legislation to abolish U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and shift the bureau’s various duties to other federal agencies. The new proposal, unveiled by Democratic Reps. Mark Pocan (Wis.), Pramila Jayapal (Wash.) and Adriano Espaillat (N.Y.), is the first piece of legislation to tackle the thorny issue, which has become a political lightning rod on both sides of the ideological spectrum in recent weeks. Liberal [sic] Democrats have latched on to the ‘Abolish ICE’ movement to protest President Trump’s aggressive approach to deportations, while Republicans have hammered the effort as a soft-on-crime strategy that threatens public safety.”
(The “sics” are Tom’s. I’d call them Progressives – Transnational, at that. The excuse for this bill is the recent Kabuki Theatre about all the poor immigrant children ripped out of their parents’ arms. The real reason is of course, the Tranzis’ continuous effort to gut American sovereignty while creating an electorate that will ensure (so they fondly imagine and dream about nightly) Democratic domination of the Fifty States (not just the FedGov) for generations. A land in which conservatives and libertarians are no doubt limited to hiding out in the hills and plains in a few hick states like South Dakota and Wyoming, to be hunted down for sport by the elite.
Of course, I am exaggerating. Those rural and frontier states would not be left to deplorables and undesirables, when they can be filled with productive, voting immigrants from third-world countries that will show their constant love for their beloved Democratic saviors and serve the wealthy tourists viewing the vast national parks, buffalo commons, and extreme sports venues.
While of course making sure the REAL undesirable immigrants are kept out of the Fifty States by the various agencies which inherited the missions of the ICE, even more politicized and with bigger hobnails on their jackboots.
Let’s not just abolish the ICE and the rest of the alphabet “law enforcement” agencies and NOT replace them or assign their responsibilities to other agencies. Let us abolish the ferals completely. We don’t need government – it needs us. That is what parasites do.
“We don’t need government – it needs us. That is what parasites do.”
a very good turn of the phrase, Nathan, and a very good analogy.
