Editor’s Note: Dealing with various issues kept us from updating for several days, but we hope to resume a more regular schedule!
The news is coming fast and furious right now. Publicizing and abetting the fearmongering of government. New mandates of masking, vaccination, and even lockdowns are appearing daily. Our freedom? Poof!
Thursday seemed to be a particularly busy day:
Uncle Joe (Biden) wants the States to use all that “free” federal money to give everyone who gets a COVID-19 vaccination a hundred bucks.
Uncle Joe is also demanding that all Feral (Federal) employees get vaccinated or tested for Beer flu weekly. And apparently, wear masks indoors at all times. (See the same Sun story as above.) Meanwhile the US Surgeon General recommends the vaccinated wear masks OUTDOORS to protect the unvaccinated, according to CNN. (Maybe you can read between the lines better than I can, since CNN claims he DIDN’T say to wear masks around children indoors or outdoors!)
And there are rumors that several prominent people are proposing or planning to stop paying Social Security (retirement, at least, and maybe SSI) to people who are not vaccinated. The logic seems to be that the government shouldn’t pay people twice: once for retirement and again for medical treatment when they get COVID-19.
Not that “the jab” seems to be preventing people from getting COVID-19, according to stories out of Massachusetts and elsewhere. (Confirming something actually known back in April.)
Millions of people are now again being ordered to wear masks – indoors or outdoors. Other millions are being told that their jobs, going to school, or doing business are dependent on the wearing of masks OR getting the vaccines.
Meanwhile, it is reported that in Australia, Royal Army troops have been deployed to at least one city to enforce the lockdown as the nation slides further into mindless panic. This apparently involves going house-to-house to spy on those who have tested positive. (And who knows what other bad things they will find in those houses!)
I find this all fascinating and wonder who is telling the truth. It is seemingly impossible to see who is and who is not – in part because it is very, very difficult to figure out what the truth is.
Consider just how many people in the Fifty States have been vaccinated? The government, media, and politicians all provide us different numbers. Which of course change from day to day. After Tom Knapp pointed out I may have a math error, I reviewed more sources, and did some more calculations, and there are too many variables to figure out in the limited time I have.
So let me leave it at this. Government AND Media lie. Constantly. The lies about beer flu and this entire pandemic have been frequent and exposed time and time again. WE HAVE NO REASON TO BELIEVE ANY OF THEIR NUMBERS. SO WE SHOULD NOT. Not Biden, not Fauci, not other nameless CDC or State health agency bureaucrats. And not ANY media. (So I’ve removed the data and statistical discussion originally included in this commentary, as of 2 AUG 2021. Sorry.)
Maybe it is all about the money. An excuse to bribe people to get the shots? I wonder how this will be tracked? If it is wrong to have to show ID to vote, then it must be wrong to show ID just to get a vaccine. And in fact, US DHHS states that is so: “While providers participating in the HRSA COVID-19 Uninsured Program are required to request patient information to help verify an individual’s uninsured status—including Social Security Number and, if unavailable, a driver’s license/state ID number—this information is not required for an individual to get vaccinated.”
So how many shots can you get at different places in YOUR town or county, at $100/shot? Could you get 10 a week? A cool thousand bucks a week? Or is it to get credit for those already vaccinated.
Of course, I don’t know – having never had a COVID-19 shot and having avoided flu vaccines (bird, swine, seasonal, Asian or other) for decades, I don’t think $100 is enough to pay me for it. Or even ten thousand.
But there is more! According to CNN, the world’s “health leaders” have decided that the vaccinations are NOT enough, and we must wear masks and practice social distancing and all the other “non-pharma” interventions until the “pandemic is over.”
(Which raises another issue: Big Pharma and Big Medicine also are infamous for constant lies about anything and everything, and making a mockery of “science.”)
And when will the pandemic actually be over? When they tell us it is, of course. They are the health-fuehrers after all. Maybe when their Ouija Boards tell them?
I suspect that they will NEVER tell us of their own accord. As with mental health in the Soviet Union, the Beer Flu is far too useful a tool for tyranny and terror to be given up.

Tom, I’m not sure what you are pointing out, and it seems that there are too many undefined variables and unknowns. So I’ve revised the commentary by replacing that statistical discussion with this:

Without the original text in front of me, I can’t remember the specific error. I just remember that it would have expressed logically as a “false dilemma” fallacy in that the two numbers that the math “didn’t work” for weren’t actually incompatible.
But that’s not wildly important, because as you point out, the numbers aren’t really trustworthy any way. They can’t be, and that’s not solely a function of e.g. bureaucratic dishonesty.
Take, for example, “cases.” The numbers we see are a function of tests being administered — and the availability of tests and the likelihoods of people choosing to be tested have not remained the same over time. We don’t know what the variances are, but we can be pretty sure they exist and have been significant.
Hospitalizations (which are only at 1/3 of the the pandemic high point in January — and THAT is probably being driven upward some by more people being admitted who would previously have been sent home now that there are plenty of beds available) and deaths (which are at their lowest since March of 2020) are more reliable measures.
As for vaccine efficacy, David Friedman had a good piece recently on his blog pointing out that saying “X% of new cases are among the unvaccinated, only Y% among the vaccinated” doesn’t tell us that much about how effective the vaccine is, because it doesn’t account for who hangs around who else. That is, if you’re vaccinated, you are probably mostly surrounded by other vaccinated people, and if you’re not vaccinated, you’re probably surround by mostly other un-vaccinated people. Therefore there’s a significant vector differential between the two groups that’s independent of vaccine efficacy per se.
Like you, I’m getting sick of the “for the love of God, everyone please PANIC and do as you’re told” narrative.

And even giving them the benefit of the doubt, that doesn’t make sense. If they were right about the jab, that with it we “shall not surely die”, letting us just remain un-jabbed and die off would save them all kinds of money. COVID is pretty rapid, relative to the withering and dying that can take a couple years of hospital care, then hospice care, and all the while they’ve been paying out the social security.
Pretty obvious to me that the liars have something else in mind for us.

Are we not assuming that (1) they are sane, and (2) the COVID vaccines are really what they claim? As Mama Liberty was fond of pointing out, we never hear “the rest” (or even most) of the story. It appears that the powers-that-be are pushing fear across the board to get people to comply. Even if we don’t know their ultimate objective, that alone is enough to refuse to play their game.

I just think they’ve chosen their master. The actions of a sane man whose goal is to gain power are not necessarily all that much different than those of a lunatic. Sociopathy is perfectly understandable in either.
The jab was never intended to be sterilizing, that is, conferring immunity, but rather to reduce severity. From what I’ve been able to tell, they thought it would simply move severe symptoms down to mild, not mild down to asymptomatic. Might be they were wrong. That the jab allows one to get massive viral loads without experiencing symptoms.This understandably has them in a tizzy. If so, all those vaccinated are walking around spreading it far and wide, vastly worse than the un-jabbed, who would be home in bed.
And since it’s a non-sterilizing jab, some fraction of the jabbed will end up in serious condition, too.
I agree. Get plenty of sun and exercise, drop a few pounds if you need to, and refuse to play their game.

I read an article that stated that the US military has two missions: one to see that every American gets the jab and that all military get the jab. Welcome to martial law. BTW: thay have been planning this for years.
