Hard times a-comin’?

“At the end of our rope.” “The straw that broke the camel’s back.” “Enough is enough.” Do these saying seem to resemble your life today? My life today? The lives of many Americans who are lovers of liberty in this Anno Libertatis 247?

From what I see posted on line from many different points of view, it isn’t just lovers of liberty who are at the point of flipping out. Indeed, those who are strong advocates of, and actually practice, personal liberty and responsibility – and non-aggression! – are not as close to that point.

But we are likely to be dragged into the fray, if the balloon goes up. It has happened before and…

“I know no way of judging the future but by the past.” —Patrick Henry

So consider this in recent history:

Hillary Clinton (13 SEP 2001): “Every nation has to either be with us, or against us. Those who harbor terrorists, or who finance them, are going to pay a price.”

George W Bush (in a joint session of Congress on 20 SEP 2001): said, “Every nation, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists.”

As far as the old parties, the so-called conservatives and so-called liberals/progressives, are concerned, there is no middle-ground and there are no sidelines. As matters continue to break down in the Fifty States, it is those who stand for liberty, who stand for individual and personal freedom, who will be condemned, vilified, and ultimately hunted down. They are tyrants and they control (or think they do) those around them by so-called law. Of course, we were reminded of this by several notable people:

“All tyrannies rule through fraud and force, but once the fraud is exposed they must rely exclusively on force.” – George Orwell

“When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty.” – Thomas Jefferson

The point is, whatever might be happening today, it has pretty much happened before. And somehow, some way, humanity and even liberty have survived. Or at least been found again.

BUT! Today, we have far more things working in our favor than did our brothers and sisters in liberty back in the times of Persia, or Antiochus or even Jefferson. We don’t HAVE to lose – we can still win.

AND THEN, we get to rub their noses in it.

Think about it!
