An eventful weekend – and more proof of what is wrong with our current situation

Once again, an eventful weekend across the States and even the world.

The biggest story of the weekend, politically and socially, was the attempted assassination of several members of the current regime in DC. Apparently just in the Executive Branch. And apparently an attempt made by a man who shocked everyone by his behavior: more and more questions about what is going on and why.

But one question is again answered: the mainstream media is again demonstrating a complete lack of morality and a complete unwillingness to tell the truth. The whole story is not found on the main web pages of the usual MSM or on the screens of American televisions. Is it ironic that TPOL just published a column decrying the folly of trusting the Press? Or just so common that inevitably we would see yet another example quickly?

This graphic is again proven true:

No matter whether you worship, love, hate, or despise The Donald, you must be alert to the fact that the MSM is clearly unwilling to tell the truth about anything that might cast Trump in a neutral or good light. The WaPo is the perfect poster child: “Trump evacuated from White House correspondents’ dinner after loud noises heard.”

Whatever your opinion of Trump, are we not agreed that the man is important to the Fifty States, for good and bad? Should we not have the truth about what is going on, and not have to read between the lines?

None of the MSM described this as an assassination attempt (not even “alleged assassination attempt” or even an attempted mass killing. The man disarmed as documented on video is identified as a “suspect” or “alleged gunman”- at least no media that we’ve seen called him a “person of interest.” A manifesto has been found and published, we understand. Why is no one asking if this is really what this would-be killer really wrote, or whether there are others behind the scene?

These and so many other questions are simply ignored or immediately “answered” with little or no time for investigation.

But then we accept that even when it comes to articles about “the best restaurant in City X” – there is no real investigation, except into the advertising records to see who pays for the most advertising.

The other news also demonstrates the quality of the Press in today’s society. Finally, after decades of praise and encouragement, the truth comes out. About what? The Southern Poverty Law Center, of course: that staunch defender against racists, democracy destroyers, and enemies of peace and justice! We understand (although still to be proved in court, mind you) that the SPLC has been financing the very organizations it has condemned for these things. And that to do so, the SPLC committed various kinds of fraud and money laundering. And that apparently (again, still to be proven in court, not just action by a grand jury), the MSM has been aware of this and concealing it for a long time.

Honest observers have long noted the way in which the SP|LC has vilified many individuals and groups by making claims that were not true, not substantiated, and seemed to be designed to enflame passions. And of course, fill the donation coffers. And we note that like many so called public interest organizations, their efforts never seemed to come to fruition. If these allegations by the Department of Justice prove to be true, this would explain why.

But where was the media in all this? Why were they not investigating the honesty and validity of SPLC’s actions and claims? Were they so busy going after one color of evil that they could not spare time or resources to investigate another color and flavor?
