Good morning. What passes for news is sometimes a bit, well, weird. Among other things, we have to wonder just what the priorities are, both for society and government.
Society’s priorities? Consider this story: in the middle of the grand achievement of landing an (sadly unmanned) spacecraft on a comet, and the lander’s 57-hour survival despite some problems with its landing (2 bounces and ending up on its side wedged between rocks), idiots are concerned because one of the mission scientists is wearing a “sexist” shirt that features pictures of women showing a lot less skin than you will see exposed by women (VOLUNTARILY) on a summer afternoon street in Duesseldorf or Amsterdam or London! (And to say NOTHING of what they wear on a Belgian or Italian beach! (Or don’t wear, really.))
That sort of “news story” reminds me of the recent foofoorah over men in NYC speaking to a young lady walking the streets of New York: feelings are more important than events and actions to the media and apparently to the public. Being polite to young women is now sexist… I assume that soon being polite to older women will be ageist, and being polite to people of a different skin color than yours will be racist.
Mama’s Note: Well, probably to SOME of society, women or oldsters… but there are plenty of us old women who still appreciate having a door held for us or a polite greeting. I think those feminazis are actually few in number, just make enough noise and have the ear of the media to seem more prevalent than they are in reality.
It isn’t just society, of course. Government has lost its “priorities” also, and gone even MORE rotten? Just some examples this last few days:
Mama’s Note: No, government has never lost sight of it’s true “priority.” The ONLY priority is and always has been control, by whatever means necessary. They are simply finding that they have to use worse and worse means.
Lawyers for the 2nd largest public school district, Los Angeles Unified School District, are arguing in a lawsuit against the school that sex between a 14-year-old middle school student (7th grade) and an adult male teacher was consensual and acceptable, and therefore she cannot claim damages for what is, as far as I know, still statutory rape even in the People’s Democracy of California.
Apparently the US Marshalls Service is using Cessna aircraft nationwide with equipment on-board that mimics a cellular-phone tower to collect data from the phones. Supposedly done ONLY with warrants on specific phones (and people), there is NO way to tell if they are telling the truth. And since the Marshalls Service WORKS for the court system, there is really no control or limitations, is there?
Mama’s Note: Considering the absolute mindless drivel most people talk and text about… I’m sure that has to be one of the most boring jobs imaginable. What in the world are they expecting to hear in all that? I suspect that real criminals and conspirators are aware of the problem and take steps to avoid having their conversations overheard.
White House says position on Keystone XL pipeline has not changed, even though prominent Dems like Landreau of Louisiana have turned their coats and announced they will support the pipeline in the Senate vote next week, after the House voted to allow it for the NINTH time. It is obvious that the Fuehrer will veto it. The gross and disgusting thing about this is that Congress OR the White House are seen as having ANY voice at all in this: it is a decision which belongs rightly ONLY to landowners (and maybe, maybe their neighbors) to decide whether (or where) they pipeline should go through.
White House says “he” will take action on immigration by year-end in what is seen as a slap in the face of the results of last week’s elections, and the people who by a large majority don’t want this, anymore than they wanted ObummerCare or a bunch of other stuff. And you still think elections mean anything?
Speaking of which, the Congressional Republicans re-elected the House leadership which COULD have fought all the various White House and Senate Dem schemes by simply refusing to FUND ObummerCare and the bombing campaigns and all the rest. These cowardly, self-serving politicos have not gotten a spine just because the vote went their way.
But may it is really not their fault? A virus has been discovered that may affect up to 50% of all humans, survives in the body for years, and makes us stupid. Really! A chlorovirus, ATCV-1, was discovered 30 years ago but now seems to be in a major part of the populace, at least in the Fifty States. I don’t suppose it is important to note that several of the stories about this had large pictures of Uncle Joe, the Fuehrer’s chief minion, attached.
Frankly, most of the time I consider Dave Hodges to be a blowhard and demagogue, but maybe he has something here: “The number one weapon that is used against humanity in order to further the globalist agenda is induced stupidity. Many older foreigners are in awe as they witnessed the dumbing down of America in just a few short decades.” The whole article is worth reading and pondering on, because we see it EVERY day. And maybe that ATCV-1 is another CIA plot? A “genie” organism? It is easy to get paranoid when they ARE out to get you.
In other medical news: Here we go again! A surgeon with Ebola is coming to US for care, but we are told not to worry, we can deal with it! They are, by the way, flying him into Nebraska. You know, would it NOT make sense (assuming the fearmongerers are only half right) to do something like use that old leper colony on a tiny island in Hawaii, or perhaps Gitmo, or maybe another nice island like Johnson Atoll or something off the coast of Maine or Washington State for this sort of thing? Naw, I’m obviously being paranoid.
An appeals court dismisses clergy housing lawsuit, denying claims by the Freedom from Religion Foundation that the organization had standing, since the money involved is private (church) money and NOT tax money. The Nazgul ruling is good because it keeps money from being taxed, BUT the reason for the ruling just creates an opportunity for someone who CAN claim standing. The war on religion will continue.
Mama’s Note: If the rest of us have to pay at gunpoint, I see no reason any church or “non-profit” should be tax exempt myself. Rather than fight for exceptions for themselves, it would be far better for them to fight against all theft.
Ukraine and Russia take center stage as leaders gather for G20, and clearly are panicking about the thoughts of a Winter War and Russia now kowtowing to the West – to NATO and the US.
Can we expect this next here in the Fifty States? Venezuela cracks down on peddling diapers: ‘I feel like a drug dealer’ As basic goods grew more scarce on store shelves, authorities targeted open-air black markets that sold everything from coffee, eggs and cooking oil to shampoo, deodorant and detergent.
Mama’s Note: Already starting here. People selling things at flea markets, guns shows, craft shows and the like are being handed papers demanding that they collect and pay “sales tax.” Right now it is impossible to enforce, but the intimidation will rope in the timid and uninformed. I’m sure the thumb screws will come out eventually, especially once real shortages of goods becomes a problem. The “state” has no intention of suffering reduced revenue, no matter how much of the economy is destroyed in the process.
