Libertarian Commentary #16-07C By Nathan Barton
Reality is “malleable,” at least if you are a politician (or a con-man. there’s really not much difference at the root of it). If they say it long enough and loud enough, they figure that we will believe it. And they themselves might believe it, too. (And they certainly pretend to, right now.) Here are some examples.
“I continue to believe Mr. Trump will not be president,” Obama said while speaking at a press conference in Rancho Mirage, California, according to ABC News. “And the reason is because I have a lot of faith in the American people.”(Sure! A lot of faith that we will continue to be have like a bunch of suckers!} Obama told reporters he believed Americans still see the presidency as “a serious job.”{Yup! A really serious con-job.) “It’s not hosting a talk show, (Nope, just always being a GUEST on a talk show.) or a reality show. (Hmmm. The scripts may be a bit better written, but that is a matter of difference in degree and not kind.) It’s not promotion, it’s not marketing,” (That is EXACTLY what it is, not just running for President, but sitting in the Oval Office and vacationing around the world.) Obama said. “It’s hard and a lot of people count on us getting it right.”
Yup. Lying is always harder than telling the truth. Con-men work really hard. Just not for very long at a time. And all those Tranzis and puppet masters are counting on the giggles continuing.
What IS reality? For the FedGov, and those of us condemned to life and business in the Fifty States, part of it is found at the website Ten Thousand Commandments which tells us that last week’s Federal Register had “only” 1200+ pages. They have released the 2016 version of their ongoing report “The Tip of the Costberg,” reporting how the 1.885 TRILLION bucks FEDERAL regulation costs us is added to the $3.5 TRILLION stolen and spent by the FedGov. Which means it accounts together for nearly 1/3 of the $17 trillion American [theft] economy. And we thought pre-revolutionary (and modern) France had it bad. The reality is that Americans are about 1/3 slaves JUST of the FedGov, not counting state and local taxes and regulations. But of course, the politicians (and the media) want us to believe that we are free. Never mind the reality.
Mama’s Note: The only problem with that is the fact it’s impossible to be just 1/3 slave. You either own your life or you don’t. You can’t be a little bit pregnant, or enslaved.
Another example of false “reality.” GOP Prez Candidate Kasich told Michigan students: “We’re not a socialist country”. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, “Republican presidential candidate John Kasich says young voters should be discriminating in the presidential race because the U.S. is ‘not a socialist country.’ It was an apparent shot from the Ohio governor at Democratic contender Bernie Sanders, who also campaigned on Monday in Michigan. Kasich told students at Michigan State University that they must ‘understand the very nature of our economic system. … We’re not a socialist country.’ Kasich has made Michigan a campaign priority, visiting more than any candidate from either party.” Except that we ARE! Our “economic system” is so badly fouled up by government that to pretend it is anything other than an increasingly-socialistic system – where government controls virtually all sectors of the economy – is a strong indication of insanity.
Speaking of insanity: An elementary school in Minnesota canceled Valentine’s Day and other traditional holidays according to the Inquisitr, and will continue to do that with other holidays, until they can figure out how to adopt holidays that are acceptable to “minority non-white” families. (I suppose that since there is a “person of color” squatting at 1600 PA, that “President’s Day” is okay, for now.) Getting the ax for not being inclusive enough are Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. Apparently traditional activities are now banned: no giving of cards, no candy, no costumes, no candy, no decorations, no candy… you get the point. I’ve no doubt that many so-called libertarians will rejoice at this, missing the entire point: get the children OUT of these insane asylums where the nuts are in charge and the fruits constantly look for more and more things to ban.
A court case is now underway in Maryland where a high school student and her parents are suing the school for making her accept Islam, and failed her for refusing to give the “right” answers to test and homework questions about Islam during the four weeks of intense study as part of their history course (four weeks for 1400 years of history, versus less than one week for 2000 years of “christian” history). I’ve written about this sort of thing a lot in the past, but it is just getting worse.
The reality today is that freedom is vanishing in much of the world. For instance, as reported by the Washington Times, police in Scotland say they have arrested a 40-year-old man for posting “offensive” comments on Facebook about Syrian refugees. The unnamed Inverclyde area man was arrested under the Communications Act after posting a series of comments criticizing the resettling of migrants on the nearby Isle of Bute, The Guardian reported. It is easy to do this with social media, of course, but the surveillance state will soon see the cops able to do so for even remarks whispered to a friend or in the privacy of your home. And more and more things will be deemed “offensive” or illegal. Like the next item.
The Christian Science Monitor has an interesting article on “Free-range education: Why the unschooling movement is growing.” Unschooling is an educational theory that suggests children should follow their own interests, without the imposition of school or even any alternative educational curriculum, because this is the best way for them to learn and grow. It is an “extreme” (or perhaps, very laid back) version of home-schooling, and ALWAYS irritates so-called educational proponents and experts, as well as government officials. It gives them NO control. The “reality” that is created in public (government-run, tax-funded) schools is just as bogus as any DC press conference or reality TV series: scripted and controlled minutely.
One more example for today: World Net Daily [http://www.wnd.com/2016/02/study-now-says-global-warming-slows-sea-level-rise/] reviews a study, which contrary to “established and proven science” (the “reality” pushed by the FedGov and Tranzis the world over), global warming (if it really exists) SLOWS a rise in sea levels. Just what version of reality are we to believe? Maybe we just have to wait and see.
With this kind of “reality” is it any wonder that more and more Americans are considered psychotic, and more and more seem incapable of dealing with daily life?
