Watch them circle around the drain and go down. Despite many claims to the contrary, our liberties are vanishing like moths consumed by a torch. One of the latest regards the Gadsden Flag.

The Volokh Conspiracy reports how that bastion of protection of our “rights,” the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), has found that free speech is a violation of your fellow employees’ rights, at least if you wear something that is “offensive” to them.

Yes, the Gadsden Flag, that stalwart banner of American Independence and Liberty, beloved by millions for 200+ years, is now RACIST. After all, snakes – even rattlesnakes – are people too.

For years we used to joke about why we carried handguns: “For the snakes, we’d say: without legs, with four legs, and with two legs.” Well, the two-legged rattlers are in command now. And we need our self-defense more than ever.

Just as we need to make it clear that we do NOT consider liberty to be a matter of so-called racism. The Gadsden Flag has NEVER represented racism: indeed, one could say that the United States Flag, for far longer, could be seen to represent racism because of the POLICIES of the FedGov which claimed that flag. (But even there, the Stars and Stripes represented far more, and its idealism trumps any charges of racism just as much as for the Southern Cross.)

Perhaps we should consider some of these other flag versions? Maybe they would be “acceptable” to the racists and statists at the EEOC and the idiots who file complaints?

Of course, many of us believe that in some venues, the Gadsden Flag has an outdated meme, and think one or more of these is now more appropriate:
