In recent times, we’ve heard from the consort (and partner in crime) of that squatter at 1600 PA how “… I wake up every morning in a house that was built by slaves.” [Snopes]

Actually, she is at least partially right. Until several years into the War between the States (WBTS), the District of Columbia was a slave-holding territory, and slaves were cheaper labor than free people (although apparently a lot of free men and freedmen (manumitted slaves) worked on it also). Indeed, the White House, the Capitol, and many other historic buildings, especially government buildings, were built in part by slaves, not slaves owned by the government but hired by the government from their owners.

But this misses the MAJOR point. The White House, the Capitol, and EVERY Federal government built in ALL Fifty States, the District of Columbia, and every territory the FedGov has ever owned, controlled, occupied or leased, was built by slaves. Yes, every one from the original fortress at West Point on the Hudson, all the way down to the most recently-awarded contract for a new federal office building or federal courthouse or whatever right now in 2016.

What? We’re free! Slavery has been illegal for 150 years now! How can this be?

Because every federal building, every federally-funded highway or water project or sewer system, every federally-funded school or college building, was and is built with tax money. Indeed, the same thing is true of every building built by a state government, a county government, city or town government, or (at least for most of a century) any school building.

There are two ways we can look at taxes, and they are NOT mutually exclusive. Taxation is theft. And taxation is slavery. Every penny paid in tax of any kind (and that includes so-called “service fees” when the service provided is mandatory and provided only by a government (monopoly). AND every penny paid in tax of any kind is, perhaps indirectly (as in the case with tariffs and sales and excise taxes) or directly (as with income taxes and poll taxes), a fractional slavery. When you and I work to earn that money, we have a “partner” (parasite) profiting from OUR labor, just as much as any slave or bondservant or indentured servant, without any sort of voluntary agreement or compensation for our labor. We are slaves to the same percentage as the amount of our personal income (whether wages/salary or returns on investment) stolen by the governments who have their hands in our pockets, with their guns pointed to our heads.

Mama’s Note: And, once again, I add to this the even greater slavery of government regulation and control of business, medicine, education, infrastructure and even most of our social life. The loss of opportunity, productivity and quality of life is every bit – if not more – enslavement to that government.

But this, of course, is NOT what that moocher meant when she repeated that bit about living in a house built by slaves. Any more than she would admit that the current slaveowner, the current master of the plantation that is the once-united States of America, is her husband. Who is NOT himself (as apparently she is) the descendant of actual, legally-recognized former slaves but rather the scion of Kenyan blacks and Muslim Arabs and (whisper it) white people who may have been the descendants of whites who owned slaves. Indeed, with the ancestry of this tyrant, a majority of his genes deserve every bit of that white guilt he tries to place on people who are lighter in skin but mixed blood and more than just “European” blood in their veins.

But that is okay, because his ancestors were just as much fractional slaves as subjects of His or Her Majesty in British East Africa, or citizens in Hawaii or Massachusetts or where ever, because they paid taxes, had their hours and minutes’ productivity stolen by government in one way or another, their entire lives.

Just as you and I are, today. Even if we don’t pay income taxes, or even can avoid social security “contributions,” we still are being stolen from, forced to endure involuntary servitude to support government – through sales taxes, property taxes, user fees, and all the other hundreds of taxes we must cough up or be punished – as surely as a recalcitrant field slave would be whipped and kicked by an overseer or master.

Which is one reason it so disgusts me when people try to use the Bible to justify paying taxes.

We are millennia behind in ending this evil of theft and slavery. Enough is enough.
