It gets so old

By Nathan Barton

Although I am a lover of liberty and very much (and more and more) an anarchist (self-governor), I tend to sympathize and empathize with conservatives – even conservative statists – more than with their enemies on the other corner (base?) of the political diamond.  I have to constantly remind myself that while I may be more comfortable with these people, they are still the enemies of liberty, and as dangerous as the Tranzis (liberals or progressives or leftists).

At the same time, the stupidity (of which I have written recently at length) and ignorance of history which is so common today among the Tranzis and their stooges constantly crops up on the right.  Not just the neo-conservatives, but the paleo-conservatives as well.  And the ignorance and stupidity increases constantly.

Or maybe I should say that the common knowledge which any human in the Fifty States should have is declining.  Anyone should know some basic history and government, just as we expect them to know how to add and subtract (and even multiply and divide!).  This is NOT about making them a “good citizen” but about having some rudimentary knowledge to use to defend themselves against the governors-of-others.  And having enough knowledge to accept responsibility for their actions.

Some examples.

This political cartoon appeared recently at iPatriot [], accompanying an article on “Cutting the Second Amendment Out.”  (No, I do not have permission of the artist (McCray) to reprint this – this is fair use to comment on it.) Notice that McCray dates the Bill of Rights to 1776.  While it may be the natural outcome of the Declaration of Independence (written and signed in 1776), the Bill of Rights was not added to the Constitution until 1791 – fifteen years later. They also fail to recognize the roots of the Bill: the Magna Carta, the English Bill of Rights, and the Bible.

More serious is the nearly universal misunderstanding that the Bill of Rights (or the Constitution) GIVES us the various rights. And therefore can be done away with, given a sufficiently large majority. The Bill of Rights recognizes the unalienable rights belonging to man (as a gift of nature or of God) by virtue of being a sentient being.  This is in stark, even harsh, contrast to the French Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen, with its mealymouthed and internally contradictory language, in a maddened society and government already tainted by corruptions, anti-religious sentiments, and powermongering.  And even more to the still more contemptible UN-spawned “Universal Declaration of Human Rights” (1948), written trying to blend the cultures and religions of the entire planet, failing to merge the societies created by attempting to follow YHWH, His Son, Allah and His Prophet (peanuss butter und honig), the polytheisms of Eastern and Southern Asia, much less the state worship and atheism of the Soviet Union and its empire.

But we can touch on a few more errors and mistaken concepts (warped and warping) found in both the contrasting political points of view which dominate the Fifty States.  The Democrats and Republicans, whether “conservative” or “liberal,” fail to and refuse to understand their own political party’s history, much less that of their major competition.

This is seen in the first story above, and in this iPatriot article as well. The Grand Old Party is just as guilty as the Democrat Party in spreading lies, advocating and supporting slavery, and causing and promoting death.  While both parties have clearly departed from most of their founding principles, the GOP has not departed far enough, and the Dems have for the most part rejected all of theirs. (Except that, like the GOP, they have not rejected the cardinal principle, which can be summed up simply as “maintain power at any cost.”)

The GOP is the child and bearer of socialism, resulting in large part from the failed socialist (or even communist) rebellions in 1848 and the subsequent seeking of asylum by the disciples of Karl Marx.  Black slaves were “freed” at the cost of enslaving ALL Americans (see Jeffrey Hummel’s book Emancipating Slaves Enslaving Free Men).  In addition to needlessly starting and prosecuting the War Between the States and imposing military occupation of eleven “sovereign” states (in the “Reconstruction”) for a dozen years and waging the Spanish-American War with its imperial designs, the GOP conspired with and collaborated with the Democrats in every major bloodbath of the 20th Century: the Great War, the Second World War, the Korean Conflict, and the Southeast Asian war – then reasserted its claim to master of death and lies in Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, and ushered in our global war today.  While at the same time, participating in (and kowtowing to the Democrats) the increasing socialism of the Fifty States: the New Deal, the Great Society, Clinton’s little games, and most recently “hope and change.”

And the Democrats bury their own history of slavery and segregation, of lynchings and steady intervention in dozens of nations by Navy bluejackets and US Marines, of Nisei concentration camps, and more. Warmongering on the side of Imperial Britain and Imperial France in the Great War, goading Japan in WW2 and allying with Soviet Russia in that bloody mess, establishing the United Nations, and much, much more.

Neither party really, truly cares about liberty or lives, much less property or the pursuit of happiness – except their own elites’ wealth and power.  And in large part this is because their rank and file, their hangers-on and minions and shills, refuse to learn and understand their evil history.

We could list a dozen more, but that is sufficient for now.  Their stupidity and ignorance get old fast – and have been of old a slave collar and source of lies and death to Americans.  And indeed, the rest of the world.

Isn’t it time to condemn them to the ash heap of history?
