We’re back! Liberty’s price is being paid

After an unexpected and unplanned hiatus of two weeks, The Price of Liberty returns.

Following a whirlwind tour of seven states, at least three still in the throes of the evils of the Lockdown, TPOL is back up this week.

With, we might add, a lot of ammo to use in proclaiming liberty unto the land, and all the inhabitants thereof. Safe passage through and out of the domains of the evil Emperadora (Empress) Lujan Gresham of New Mexico and the wicked Warlord Polis of Colorado (“Greater Denver”).

TPOL will share ideas and thoughts about what was found (and survived!) in Nebraska, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Wyoming – before returning safely to the (comparably) free state of South Dakota. – Well, three of our party of eight is now safe in the Black Hills (South Dakota side): five remain in what one correspondent calls the “Backward State of Hatu” – Utah. But they are in a relatively safe area away from the teeming multitudes of the Wasatch Front and the woke liberal communities of Park City, Moab, and other places.

We visited a lot of places, saw a lot of clients, comrades, friends and even family. Heard a lot about conditions from friends and strangers. And saw very good, and very bad, people.

What did we find? In brief, lots of people who still value liberty and are trying to live in freedom. But at the same time, growing numbers of tyrants and their thuggish minions and shills. And ever-increasing groups of people SUPPORTING those autocrats and controllers and their ilk. Places where the Lockdown’s excesses have clearly damaged – and continue to damage – communities. Families and individuals with little hope and in danger from the nannies and their armed forces.

And more and more people worried about what more the future will bring, as far as this evil. Who have seen their livelihoods vanish. As directed by government goons. From businesses forced to close courtesy of the Pandemic Panic. To more businesses trashed because of the growing bans of drilling, the increasing political pressure to do away with the burning of coal, gasoline, diesel, and even natural gas. While their communities and environment are being destroyed in the name of the environment. And their families and friends and neighbors being cancelled in the name of a fake liberty and false freedom defined by the woke enemies of true liberty.

People afraid to raise their voices – even in song – because of fear of COVID-19, AND fear of cancellation and verbal AND physical attack by the social justice warriors and the crooked politicians, bureaucrats and jack-booted thugs. While being lied to constantly and with ever-increasing frequency. By the press, their “leaders” and so-called civil servants.

But that will be discussed more in the next few days.

In the meantime, are you prepared? Not just for this particularly nasty storm sweeping the mountains and plains, but for more and more attacks on freedom, on jobs, on education, on religion, and more.

At the same time, do NOT give up! We can be free again. We WILL be free again. The enemies of liberty will not prevail.

Hello sir, Thank you for the excellent site ! Sir, is there a 50 state ranking as far as Liberty-Freedom goes? I am moving away from this damn occupied *hole of Pennsylvania…but where to go? I was thinking of ND or SD especially,.or any of the middle states as they seem to be pushing back against the imposter Biden’s EOs…and such.

Let us see what we can come up with. Several attempts have been made over the years to rank states using the Nolan chart (economic and personal liberty) – read about it at Advocates for Self Government (https://www.theadvocates.org/quiz/). Perhaps some readers will know of the most recent. While South Dakota has serious problems, it is definitely one of the better ones today in many areas.

Most States face some version of that – regardless of what color their supposed leaders wear.

I am in Michigan. At one time, I thought that we were a pretty free state. That was, until I actually began to become interested in exercising my enumerated rights, such as the right to freedom of speech, and to keep and bear arms, in more than a once a year deer hunting type of scenario. I ran straight into a Democrat made brick wall of eye opening BS.
The most bracingly apparent thing to me was that while we had just passed the shall issue CCW permit, when I decided that I wanted to exercise that right, it cost me over 200$, and 8 hours of my time, most of which was pretty much of an exercise in nonsense. Sitting in a classroom, while the instructor read from the book that the NRA provides for such training sessions, and which the state of Michigan recognizes as one of the training manuals allowed for CCW training. 4 hours of classroom time, plus a test on the material, which we could not fail, and then 4 hours of range time, using ancient Ruger Mark II’s, which would jam and FTF, FTE. With 6 firing lanes and 25 students or so. So our 4 hours of range time worked out to be pretty much about making sure that you knew which end of the gun went bang, and which end of the cartridge was the nose and which end was the butt.
The greatest part of getting my CCW, aside from the ability to carry concealed of course, was that I could use it as my background check when purchasing a new firearm. Until the wonderful election of freedom.
The state of Michigan had an election that brought two things. First, it brought the ability for people who wanted to imbibe of the plant marijuana without the danger of the state getting involve with their business to do so in peace. Of course, since the people who tend to vote for such things tend to be Democrats, it also brought us the Empress of Lansing, Gretchen Whitless. One other part of the law of unintended consequences is that the BATFE, most likely in a move to punish the state of Michigan, decided that since we now have free use of marijuana, the CCW we have is no longer good enough to be used as proof of our having passed a background check, and we must undergo the check with our FFL like everyone else.
I don’t even want to get into the fact that every time we purchase a handgun, we must register it with our local police force. Years ago, they called it a safety check, and we had to take the gun with us to the police station, where the officer or chief would compare the serial number with that of the paperwork, to prove that we were registering the actual gun that we had. At least they don’t make us do that any longer. The last time I checked, the number of crimes solved by having us register our handguns was negligible, which is something that pretty much every gun owner could tell the power hungry in Lansing. But they only know two things, power and control, and they always want more of both.
