Here in the States, the major attention to borders and potential threats has long been the border with Mexico, and the Gulf Coast with access to the Caribbean and all its little island nations. The States’ border with Canada has long been demilitarized – indeed, for pushing 150 years.

But in recent years, as Canada has gone more Woke, more Tranzi, and opened the Provinces to mass immigration from not just the Commonwealth but apparently everywhere else? Some people think we need a wall up there, too. (That disgusts us both politically and personally, even more than the idea we must fortify the border with Mexico.)

But things are not good – and the Canada we once knew – even the Prairie Provinces – is long gone. A recent Breitbart article points out that Canada’s crime rate is extremely serious. Not necessarily Chicago-style serious, but (except for homicides) higher than we find in the States overall.

The recent killings in Montreal make this more obvious.

Everyone concentrates on homocides, according to the study by John Lott. Yes, Canada’s homicide rate is a bit less than half of that of the Fifty States. But it turns out that “Canadians are far more likely to experience assault, robbery or other violent crimes than homicide.”

Not only that, but apparently Canadian federal authorities are lying about the actual crime rate, and the number of victims. (Of course, like the FBI and others, they don’t count victims of government-initiated crimes (real, if “legal”) in their data.) But it appears that one in a thousand Canadians is a crime victim each year. “…in 2019 “Canada’s overall violent-crime victimization rate was 295% higher than the U.S. rate.”

And has gotten worse since then. (Again, we have to ignore Canadian federal, provincial, and local crime against their own citizens: in that case, virtually every Canadian subject of the King is a victim of evil acts by their own government. Like the pending ban on many types of religious speech, even reading parts of the Bible and Quran.)

But the real point is to ask just why the Dominion has such a serious and growing crime problem. Why more and more Canadians each year are victims of criminals. Why it is not just the major urban areas, but more and more rural areas (including “First Nations” reserves) that see this growth.

We submit that the answer is precisely the same reason that Canada claims is the reason that its homicide rate is so low. No, it is not because Canadians are so polite and civil in their manner. Nor does it seem to have anything to do with the constant beat of anti-Trump (and even anti-American) rhetoric booming out from Ottawa.

Simply, Canadian subjects are mostly disarmed. A violent bully, a rapist, a stick-up artist, a burglar, a child abuser does not have nearly as much to worry about. As compared to their evil comrades in the lower 48 States. Their victims have little with which to defend themselves. Indeed, often nothing at all. The criminal can perpetrate their crime with much less fear.

When criminals do not fear immediate retribution, instant response, from those they want to prey upon, they are obviously going to do a lot more. More thieving, more beating, more threats and demands. No, they won’t kill as much, either: they don’t need to.

And like the Home country (the UK), more and more crime is waived by the King’s justice. And when the cops, whether it is a town clown or a provincial police force or the RCMP, spend more time investigating and arresting someone for “hate speech” or “offensive language” or even speaking up against the ruling regime? They don’t have the resources to go after those who really are doing evil deeds. Even if they aren’t murdering people.
