Good morning – or maybe not: is the US (or at least the sovereign State of Arizona) being invaded – and NOT by FedGov thugs? Maybe. Is Ukraine being invaded by more Russians? Maybe. Is Tranziism (the big brother of Fascism and Nazism and Communism) growing right here in the Fifty States? That is almost certainly true, as the first few stories show.
Mexican troops have been crossing the border with Arizona and attacking American citizens. Or so KVOA TV out of Tucson claimed for a few hours, until the news story disappeared from their website. Whether this is due to the television station being occupied by the “rogue troops” or by US defense forces or FedGov thugs to put down the rumors, I don’t know. I do notice that as of 0900 MDT on Friday, there have been no news stories updated on the stations website since before midnight. Hmmm.
Pro-Russian protesters in Ukraine continue to use violence to exert pressure on the Ukrainian government. Or so it is reported and claimed by the FedGov and its puppets in Kiev. But who knows? News stories say that at least four people have died in fighting between Ukrainian forces and “Russian separatists” but no clue as to who exactly is involved. The intent is clearly to blame the Russian government and people.
Conservative icon George Will says the IRS attack on innocent Americans must be punished, in an opinion piece in the WaPo and elsewhere. George tells the story of an elderly (and legal) immigrant in Michigan, from which the IRS stole more than $35,000 using “civil forfeiture” laws. George doesn’t talk about HOW to punish the IRS (I have some ideas), but he also doesn’t point out that it is CONGRESS that allows this evil agency to exist and have the powers that it has and uses to abuse Americans. The IRS seems to be just doing what Congress wants done, on this and many other things.
Another mass shooting in a “gun-free” zone at a FedEx facility in Kennesaw, Georgia: six wounded. Yes, it is past time to stop the gun-free madness. I expect the City of Kennesaw to be blamed for this because it is a city that “requires” its citizens to own weapons. Whether that is constitutional or moral to require such is an important issue, but that does no good when the business is so hoplophobic that they deny basic self-defense to their employees.
Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court has decided that no search warrant is needed by cops to search cars, in that state. Is there ANY reason that the people of Pennsylvania, and those visiting this state or traveling through it, should be forced to submit to such tyranny?
Paul Craig Roberts tells anyone who will listen: the U.S. economy is a house of cards, that Capitalism has been transformed (warped and twisted) by powerful private interests whose control over governments, courts, and regulatory agencies has turned capitalism into a looting mechanism. He even points out that Wall Street no longer performs any positive function. I think it is important to note that it is a two-way street: it isn’t just “big business” that controls government, but GOVERNMENT that controls and manipulates the multinationals, in a revolving door relationship that often can be found not just at the federal but at the state and local level. This is the reason we have to distinguish between MODERN “Capitalism” and traditional free enterprise and free markets.
The CDC claims that College Grads are 82% Likelier To Be ‘Regular Drinkers’ Than H.S. Dropouts. Theoretically, that is because they can afford it more easily: don’t know if CDC bothered to cross check job and financial status. But I suspect that there IS some correlation. Of course, many other factors play a role, including the big fact that college these days is often little more than an extended childhood, paid for by other people or “later” and with little responsibility or accountability. Maturity is lacking, and yet… the tipple is legal (at least for most college juniors and seniors).
