In many ways, the news (what we get of it that is true, at least) seems to indicate that we have great hope for restoration of liberty in much of the world. Even here in the States.

Some of the news that is helpful and hopeful?

• More and more people are recognizing that the FedGov is lying about a strong economy and victory over inflation, even while squandering trillions of dollars. (Of course, in that effort, the White House is very strongly supported and encouraged by both old parties in Congress.) People are worried, and at least some see it is not the free market (or even honest capitalism) causing this: it is government!
• There are rumors that Uncle Joe has had several mini-strokes which, at age 80+, are of great concern. It is claimed that the mainstream media is suppressing the information, but really brings into question if Uncle Joe will really get the Democratic nomination next year. Especially considering his opinion poll numbers, continuing to slip.
• At the same time, despite media claims to the contrary, it seems that there IS a smoking gun in the Case of the Biden Crime Family. There is a check and clearly-established timetable that should (in an honest investigation) give cause for more work to uncover the crime(s). And Hunter seems to be running out of ways to run away – maybe he should consider asking for asylum someplace. Cuba? Maybe, but Ottawa might be a better choice.
• Continuing the strong move to home-schooling as a result of the Beer Flu in 2020, more and more parents are desperately seeking and finding alternatives to government-run (ruined), tax(theft)-funded schools. Not just stupid closures and requirements for masking (being revived) by educrats and unionists are causing this. The Regressive push on transsexualism, abortion, antisemitism, and Diversity-Inclusion-Equity (DIE – usually called DEI) are all reasons more and more people are giving up on GRTF schools.
• More people are seeing that a foundational problem with government is giving it too much power. (We still have a ways to go to convince enough people that any power is too much.) Conservative politicians and office-holders seem to finally be learning from the Regressives (and the old-timey progressives before them) that the power of government can be used to shove their power and wealth schemes down the throats of Americans. And this is angering and frustrating people across the political diamond (or spectrum, if you want). And see that voting the thugs out just lets a new crop of thugs get put in office.
• We may be seeing more and more Woke and adherents of both Dems and GOP truly waking up to what is being done to them. Not just by government and media, but by the education establishment and the so-called non-governmental organizations. The desperate need for a babysitter for congressional GOP shows that the GOP is increasingly unstable in the same way as the nation as a whole: at least two major factions so close in number and guts is a bad situation. There is the same problem in the Democratic Party. There is the defection of many Demo mayors and local officials from the FedGov over immigration. Uncle Joe’s regime pushing more on banning menthol cigarettes (favored by black Americans) is yet another reason black voters are abandoning him and the Dems. Rich donors to Dems and to prestigious educational institutions are ticked about a whole host of things with both parties. The money may be going away.
• Which brings us back full circle to the economy, inflation, and growing discontent. Follow the money- whether it is bribes to politicians, nepotism for their families, throwing more money at Ukraine and Israel (and China), or donations from the uber-rich.

Without question, a lack of stability in society is dangerous. Especially political instability. But at the same time, such conditions offer an opportunity to reestablish and expand human liberty. To get rid of the chains that bind us and to start fresh. It is an opportunity we lovers of liberty should not scorn.
