Odd,isn’t it?
Consider a man who appeared to be a perfect example of how the political parties deteriorated and grown even worse than they have for two and a half-centuries. But a man who may actually be one of the very few Democrats in office in 2026 who can reason much at all. Despite his mental and emotional problems, and his eccentric way of dressing, he is a small but bright light in the dimming Congressional holiday tree. That man is Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania.
We share this from a correspondent.
“Are you really not seeing what’s happening, or are you just pretending not to?” John Fetterman said firmly, his voice calm but filled with force.
The studio fell silent. Cameras kept rolling. Fetterman leaned forward, his eyes locked on the panel with the same direct intensity he’s become known for in political debates.
“Let me be clear,” he continued. “This chaos you keep talking about isn’t spontaneous. It’s being amplified. Weaponized. Used for political gain.”
A panelist tried to jump in, but Fetterman raised his hand, halting the interruption with measured composure.
“No—look at the facts. When streets are allowed to spiral out of control, when police are restrained, when the rule of law is weakened, ask yourself one question: who benefits?”
He paused, then answered it himself. “Not D.o.n.a.l.d. T.r.u.m.p.”
“This disorder is being used to scare Americans. To convince them the country is broken beyond repair. And then conveniently to blame the one man who keeps saying the same thing: law and order matter.”
Someone muttered, “That sounds authoritarian.”
Fetterman immediately responded.
“No. Enforcing the law is not authoritarian. Securing borders is not authoritarian. Protecting citizens from violence is not the end of democracy, it’s the foundation of it.”
The camera zoomed in.
“The real game here,” John Fetterman said, his voice sharpening, “is convincing Americans that demanding order is dangerous, while celebrating chaos as progress.”
He spoke slowly, deliberately.
“D.o.n.a.l.d. T.r.u.m.p isn’t trying to cancel elections. He’s trying to defend the voices that the political and media elites ignore the people who just want a safe country and a fair system.”
Fetterman finished, staring straight into the lens.
“America doesn’t need more fear-driven narratives. It doesn’t need apocalyptic monologues. It needs truth, accountability, and leaders who aren’t afraid to say that order is not the enemy of freedom

Our correspondent finished with this: “John Fetterman just delivered a powerful message on live TV, calling out the weaponization of chaos in politics. What did he say about law, order, and the media’s role in this crisis?”
Today, this is as rare as can be: he, a seemingly Woke Democrat is speaking out in favor of law and order, and calling out the media? Amazing!
We at TPOL of course do not agree with much of these words and ideas; but we understand that many minarchists and conservatives will find them comforting. Much of what he says that we find disagreeable is, pure and simple, regressive so-called “progressivism.” But in a planet filled with more and more combative (both figuratively and literally) factions, it is good to hear someone who has enough courage to push back against the collectivism of his political party. We certainly disagree with his ideas of what does not constitute authoritarianism. At least much of it.
But his closing remarks are hitting the mark. We Americans (and the world) need truth, accountability, and honest, rational leaders.
We also point out that lovers of liberty do not promote chaos. We promote anarchism: a rejection of mandatory human laws and rule (in rebellion to the natural order) that are contrary to sustaining and protecting liberty. The liberty that is a gift of our Creator.
The “fear-driven narratives” and “apocalyptic monologues” that Fetterman condemns are evil: the tools of the Woke and the street senate that we have discussed recently. Their use, by whatever part of the political diamond uses them, threatens, damages, and can destroy liberty.
