The sorrowful headline from Vox:

Back in the 1770s, the tax revolt against Parliament and King George did not instantly flare up in even half-a-dozen colonies, but rather started in a few places and spread from there. That was not entirely due to poor communications and transportation, but as much convincing people that there was a serious problem that had to be addressed. And that the action needed was far from “normal” or “acceptable” to most people. And especially not to the Crown.
Continue readingA few weeks back, there were reports that a lawyer was killed in the court room when a shotgun submitted as evidence “went off.” The thing was fully loaded.
Addelaid Ferreira-Watt, a prominent South African attorney, was killed after a shotgun that had been entered as evidence in a robbery trial was accidentally dropped and fired into her leg. (Shared from News Break)
It is a tragedy when anyone dies like this.
Continue readingOne of the many marvelous scenes in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is the discussion of the “Shoe Event Horizon.” Emotional depression turns into economic madness. Read about it here.
I wonder if we here in 21st Century America, at least the Fifty States, are approaching that level of depression (emotional and economic) courtesy of the nanny state. This news recently passed across my desktop: The FDA has ordered a recall of “cheese, salad, brownie and plant-based products.” (The plant-based product is “fake meat,” another form of madness to discuss another time.)

So then I had my stomach turn.
Hillary Clinton appointed chancellor of Queen’s University Belfast, reports the BBC News (reposted by Freedom News Daily)
“Hillary Clinton is to be the new chancellor of Queen’s University, Belfast (QUB). The former US secretary of state is the university’s 11th chancellor and first woman to take up the post. … While the role of chancellor is mainly a ceremonial one, securing Mrs Clinton will be seen as a coup for Queen’s. The chancellor often presides at graduation ceremonies and is also an ambassador for the university abroad.” [editor’s note: Does this make her a pawn of the UK’s government? – TLK] (01/02/20)
Tom, I don’t know about her being a pawn of Her Majesty’s government, but could certainly be viewed as a repudiation of her so-called “democratic” views.
And would this be considered a type of patent of nobility? Something the US Constitution prohibits for Americans?
Still more disgusting, down at the bottom of the story is stated that she is “under enormous pressure” to run for Massa again in 2020.
Double ugh indeed. Best thing we could say about this is that more time she spends in Belfast, the less time we have to put up with her Stateside.

As the son of a historian and a student of history myself, I know that too much of history has been rewritten. It is more than just the old saw, “history is written by the victors.” Often, the rewriting is very careful and purposeful, to accomplish specific objectives.
Continue readingAnyone who has perused a survivalist or prepper website or gotten emails from all those people that sell goods and services for that market has probably seen multiple stories and concerns about the vulnerability of the electrical power supply in the Fifty States – or indeed, most of North America. The govgoons (DHS especially) have steadily upped their warnings about sabotage (which they usually call “terrorism”). Those concerned about nuclear attack speak out about electromagnetic pulses from high-altitude nuclear bursts. Others talk about the general instability of the system, which sorta grew, and didn’t have a whole lot of a master plan to develop it.

Compare the two – and recall that Lizzy Warren (Fauxahaunus, with (maybe) 1/128th AmerInd blood) claims that she is that “wise Native American woman” we need so much in the White House.

May we all have a prosperous, peaceful, and especially free new year and new decade.
Feel free to revisit a New Year’s message from three years ago, here.
Panic, panic everywhere – Middle East flareup
There is panic in the air … airwaves, that is. And in the ether and the worldwide web. Panic in the boardroom. Panic in the media prep rooms. Panic in the lobbies of Congress (and their office palaces). Panic in the universities. Panic everywhere.
Why? To read dozens of commentaries and hear hundreds of sound bites, the End Times are here. Armageddon! Ragnarok! Total destruction of civilization – and then the entire world! The panic and fear-mongering are running wild.
