We frequently hear warnings of the Fifty States (or some one state) becoming a “police state.”
Merriam-Webster’s Policestatedefinition is – a political unit characterized by repressive governmental control of political, economic, and social life usually by an arbitrary exercise of power by police and especially secret police in place of regular operation of administrative and judicial organs of the government according to publicly known legal procedures.
But what does that really translate to? Here are thirteen common characteristics of such a thing:
The total trashing of our God-given liberties is FAR from the only way in which vicious governments are attacking us. The governments of many of the States are killing people.
New York has been in the news several times, when it was first revealed and then just a few days ago when the Tyrant of New York, Cuomo himself, FINALLY ordered that the policies ordering nursing homes to accept infected coronavirus patients were cancelled.
But it appears that at least FIVE states had (and some may still have) policies ordering nursing homes to accept infected coronavirus patients, so that hospitals were not required to continue treating them: All had policies ordering nursing homes to accept infected coronavirus patients:
New York New Jersey Pennsylvania Michigan California
Massachusetts should be added to this list according to some reports.
TYRANT “a cruel and oppressive ruler” and “a person exercising power or control in a cruel, unreasonable, or arbitrary way. Synonyms: dictator, despot, autocrat, absolute ruler, authoritarian, oppressor.
This is clear enough, although I tend to distinguish somewhat between “dictator” and “tyrant.” Let us explore more.
More and more anger, and more and more actions against the tyranny of governments, can be seen, around the world. Even while the governments seek to expand the theft of freedom, and even to reinstate some of the authoritarian measures which have been lifted in recent weeks. And the media, either handmaiden or domineering mistress of governments, demands more and more.
Here are a few:
Let us start with Berlin, Munchen, and Stuttgart, at least, in Germany. The Daily Mail reports that riot police in the Hauptstadt clashed with hundreds of protesters in the plazas of Berlin, as the protesters chanted “Freedom.” Less violence met much larger protests in other cities. More crackdowns are promised by the Lander and Federal authorities.
In Castle Rock, Douglas County, Colorado, a restaurant owner reopened to booming crowds and reviews for Mother’s Day. In this “conservative” (relatively so) county, the ruling Tri-County Health Department responded quickly, delivering a cease-and-desist order well before noon on Monday. Reinforced by the State’s dictator, Jared Polis. Not just shut down the indoor dining, but shut down completely for at least 30 days. With incredible disrespect, the owner wasn’t even going to look at the letter, saying he was too busy serving people. until this evening after closing. He knew what it said, of course, with the media and spies and snitches swarming the place – but he refuses to shut down.
His sign is a good one:
I can list dozens of others who are pushing back – the Rebellion is growing.
I think this quote is worth pondering in light of the growing rebellion:
“Today,” he said, “we are governed by dangerous men and women. For they have taken away our ability to make personal choices, and they have used force to compel compliance. In doing that, they have not only violated their oaths to uphold the Bill of Rights, they also have committed the criminal acts of nullifying our rights. By using the powers of state government to do this, they have made themselves candidates for federal criminal prosecutions when saner days return.”
Judge Andrew Napolitano.
As an example of the insane authoritarian sickness – the epidemic of authoritarian behavior that we see sweeping the Fifty States and the world, consider these:
This one is in Texas:
“A little two inch by two inch post-it note from my carrier was in there ,” said Bilbo. “That said they could no longer deliver my mail, because someone had tested positive for COVID-19 at this address.”
Bilbo explained that she worried about her bills and packages including her sisters cancer medication that they normally get through the mail.
“My mailbox is out on the street away from my house. I called Smithville Post office and they couldn’t tell me why except Bastrop police told them to stop my mail,” Bilbo explained.
This raises red flags even more because our health records are SUPPOSEDLY protected from being shared, even with government agencies and the COPS – much less the USPS – by HIPAA. Apparently there is some “emergency clause” that HIPAA contains that lets them do this? Indeed, according to HHS itself (website), NO:
Does the HIPAA Privacy Rule require me doctor to send my medical records to the government? Answer: No. The Rule does not require a physician or any other covered entity to send medical information to the government for a government data base or similar operation. This Rule does not require or allow any new government access to medical information, with one exception: the Rule does give the Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights (OCR) the authority to investigate complaints that Privacy Rule protections or rights have been violated, and otherwise to ensure that covered entities comply with the Rule.
Again, there are many more cases that we can use as an example, including the condemnation of Jewish worship and funerals by the thug who rules New York City with his bullyboys in blue. The couple that recently attacked Hasidim (Jews) in Brooklyn screamed )at the people whose masks that they were ripping from their faces) that the Mayor said the Jews were spreading the disease.
A member of the Oglala Sioux Tribal Council condemned South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem’s refusal to lockdown the state because it “forces people to take personal responsibility” not to spread the virus. Imagine that!
We must fight, we must rebel, now – lest it be too late.
We were told that the police have to force us to behave certain ways because of a public health emergency. That doesn’t make sense. The actions of our politicians don’t match their words.
In a recent commentary, I reported how people are pushing back against the increasing totalitarian dictatorships that many States and localities have become. I mentioned a couple of examples where governments have gotten harsher, cracking down on dissent and more and more on the most minute of disobedience. But there are many more.
I’ve also written about the growing fascism – the partnership between governments and big business – to further steal away liberty AND prosperity (not that there is much left). Again, there are many more examples happening daily.
Breitbart News reports that a British government agency has told a British Crown Court that Christians must limit their religion to their church buildings, and may not allow their religious beliefs to influence their professional activities, including fostering of children.
Because the agency is attacking a christian religious foster-parent organization for “westernizing” Muslim youth, the argument made to the court is in essence “Islam and any other religion is superior to christianity.” Christians are not even to be allowed to practice their own religion in their own homes: that must be reserved for their church buildings. Though I certainly do NOT agree with the idea (nor does any libertarian), this is shocking coming from a country with an established religion in which the “head” of their religion is their own monarch.
Overall, Americans are nearing two months of the Lockdown, the panicked reaction to the novel coronavirus pandemic. Despite claims and solemn pronouncements about “opening up” in stages, many states – and many more localities – are still locked down.
As a result, more and more Americans are getting fed up with it, and taking action into their own hands. Often, this are simple acts of disobedience: violating social distancing, refusing to wear masks as dictated by states, cities and counties, and corporations. But more and more we see outright defiance. Defiance that is done in a public manner. Daring not just the governments to do something about it, but even their panic-stricken neighbors. What one correspondent calls “Karens” – the Mrs. Grundies who are tattletales and snoops and snitches.
It was reported (KELO, KOTA, etc.) that SD Governor Noem issued an ultimatum to two South Dakota tribes (both OST and CRST: see below) about 2200 on Friday the 8th of May, 2020. The two tribes have 24 hours to remove their checkpoints blocking US and State highways across their lands. Some have suggested that SD request federal troops (Regulars, not National Guard) to quell what is apparently a rebellion, and restore constitutional rights to the members of the tribes and other residents on the reservations.
We shall see. The situation here is the reverse of what much of the world is going through.
I’ve reported on the situation in South Dakota over the past several weeks. Matters are now heating up. It would come as no surprise to see violence erupt.
Murder by COVID-19
