Feel free to revisit a New Year’s message from three years ago, here.
Robert “Beto” O’Rourke’s comments about the West Freeway Church shooting, as reported by the Daily Caller and others, sticks in my craw: “So saddened to hear about another church shooting in Texas, this one in White Settlement near Fort Worth,” the former Democratic presidential candidate tweeted. “Clearly what we are doing in Texas, what we are doing in this country, when it comes to guns is not working.”
Am I just reading too much into these words by an ex-Congressman and failed Senate and Presidential candidate? Did “what we are doing” fail because this murderer had a shotgun? Or because the congregation was able to protect itself from a murderously evil man? Are he and other haters of guns upset that another massacre did NOT take place, right after Christmas?

LDS leave BSA today – in accordance with a decision announced more than two years ago, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints officially terminates its century-old relationship with the “Scouts BSA,” formerly the Boy Scouts of America. For once, the Salt Lake City corporation is obeying biblical commandments, even if later than they should have. (Jesus told the disciples He sent out to preach one time that if they and their message were rejected by people, they should depart peacefully and ” as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet.”
As I have mostly cut my ties with the Boy Scouts of America and Scouting, I was unaware of some major problems which have developed and are hastening the final collapse of this once-fine institution. I knew some, but not much of it.

The Roaring Twenties, the decade of 1920-1929, was an amazing period in American and world history. Is there any reason to think that 2020-2029 will be much different? Better? Worse?
Continue readingThe events of Sunday Morning in a suburb of Dallas, Texas, hit close to home.
And the lessons learned are, for once, better than usual.

If the General Assembly of Virginia gives their supporters, funders, and governor the victory that they want: disarming their fellow Virginians, what happens? After all, they can pass all the laws that they can. Enforcing them against this growing and unifying resistance is not going to be easy.
Indeed, it may be impossible.
Continue readingThe tension in Virginia is growing. The Democratic majority in the General Assembly – apparently virtually all virulently anti-gun (hoploclastic) – is pushing more and more. Led by the two truly disgusting politicians which are the governor and his lieutenant, the pre-planning for the legislation session is well underway. And the major emphasis seems to be the disarming of Virginians. While preparing for resistance to those acts of disarmament. These people in Richmond seem intent on tyrannizing their fellow Virginians.
Perhaps they should remember their state motto. “Sic Semper Tyrannis” – thus always to tyrants. And Thomas Jefferson’s words

The world – especially the state (government) and its parasites – see families as part of the old world, the problems that must be overcome. Family holidays are therefore something to get shut of. Religious holidays are even worse. Especially if they cannot be co-opted by the state.
Continue readingIn the recent Insider article about the lack of unpreparedness of American cities for a nuclear explosion, one of their “experts” stated that he had apologized to his children and grandchildren for “leaving the world in such a horrible mess.”
(See TPOL’s commentary on the main subject of the Insider article at this page.)
What? The guy seems to be apologizing for his generation (and maybe that of his parents and grandparents), not himself as an individual. I don’t know who appointed him as a spokesman for his generation – even to his own children. The implication seems to be that we had nice things and ruined it all. I do know he is wrong.
As we are in the Christmas Season, with 2020 approaching, it is worth looking back and challenging his view.
What do we have to apologize for?

The hoploclasts just don’t give up on their insanity
Compare the two – and recall that Lizzy Warren (Fauxahaunus, with (maybe) 1/128th AmerInd blood) claims that she is that “wise Native American woman” we need so much in the White House.
