Defending the border? Oh, right!

Invasion?

Breitbart News reports that Border Patrol found 39 “migrants” 19 miles north of the Arizona border a few days back.

Just to make it clear, that is Arizona’s border with Sonora, not the border with Utah. Or the Dineh (Navajo) Nation. Sonora is one of the United Mexican States. It is not clear why the entire group of 39 men were in combat uniform. And there was no information as to whether or not any or all of them were armed.

Maybe it was just a great discount on army surplus? Or maybe not. People love to test the system – including the so-called border protection system. Swiss cheese has less holes, of course. Even when it is not woke regressives in power in DC, Phoenix, Santa Fe, and Sacramento.

DC and those other places scream in panic and horror when Americans who are not border jumpers are armed and go around carrying weapons to protect themselves and others against the madmen (and women) who kill more and more people each day. And unorganized militia units (that is, not government-sponsored) send them into fits of screaming memes. But they don’t seem to have such a worry if the border jumpers themselves are armed and organized.

But that is just one of several concerns. 39 men, armed or not, in military uniform – apparently including combat boots if not hats, is a platoon.

Population? Who is speaking the truth?

The UN has been drumming the alarm about world population for about as long as it has been around. As recently as November 2022, an official UN publication stated: The world’s population is projected to reach 8 billion on 15 November 2022. The latest projections by the United Nations suggest that the global population could grow to around 8.5 billion in 2030, 9.7 billion in 2050 and 10.4 billion in 2100.

But it may be that, once again, the UN (like much of government) is wrong. The Daily Mirror (UK) just published an article stating that most experts seem to agree that world peak population will be reached by 2040 at only 8.5 billion people. And will start falling “drastically” after that.

2024 presidential election – why bother?

Seriously, the 2024 Election is 19 months away. More than a year and a half.

But to listen to, or read of, many pundits, it has already been decided who is going to win on 05 November 2024.

The problem is, they don’t all agree. After the indictment and processing (arrest and release on bond) of The Donald yesterday, many claim that the actions of a Manhattan District Attorney have so mobilized and outraged Trumpistas and many more Republicans and even a fair number of independents and Democrats that Trump will definitely win. Possibly by a landslide, given Uncle Joe’s age, mental condition, physical condition, and his glorious economic and foreign affairs record – to say nothing of how he has reformed American society by gaining total acceptance of transgenderism, homosexuality, and ending 160 years of race war and 500 years of racism.

Publisher’s Note: Seems as though we are on a California-bashing mission right now. Rest assured, we here at TPOL really love California: like its people (other than its politicians and woke types, but as followers of God we love them, just don’t like them!), love its scenery, some of what it has given to the world and the other States, and really wish the best for them.

But when we look at their governments, too many of their businesses, and the corrupt society that is California, we have to restrain our gut reaction of loathing.

Is western civilization really falling?

A few months ago, Paul Robert Craig published a column telling us that Western Civilization is Ceasing to Exist.” Craig is one of several conservative and libertarian writers that we here at The Price of Liberty look forward to reading. They not only refuse to pull punches, but they often demonstrate that they understand the spiritual and moral aspects of our current situation. Not just the usual political, geographic, social, economic, and technological elements, as too many people do.

Is he right in this? Western Civilization has existed in some form for 600 years. There have been many crises, many challenges, many attempts to not just change but destroy it. Many of those have been internal, and some have come close to causing the system, the mental and social construct to go away. Are we losing civilization?

Or are we simply seeing another metamorphosis of the civilization? Again, we have a hard time agreeing on just what Western Civilization. Or for that matter, civilization!

Weather, climate, and lies

As I sit here, warm and snug, on 4 April 2023, I look outside my window to see a good 15 inches of snow (although it is melting down as it falls) here on the eastern edge of the Black Hills; and more coming down. We are expecting potentially an accumulation of 24 inches or more here in the foothills. The higher Hills may get 36 to 48 inches of snow, to add to the 200+ so far. Officially, we are still “exceptionally dry” but I expect that to change. As it has in much of the States, as far as drought, snowpack, and temperatures.

At the same time, the regime of Uncle Joe and most of the other governments and multinational NGOs and businesses are continuing to actively push the catastrophic specter of “manmade global warming.”

It is, of course, utter hogwash.

When doing some research for engineering, I ran across this website about “glacier loss at world heritage sites” including some nearby sites.

Any excuse…

… for government intervention. For giving government agencies more power, more control, and of course, more money.

(Except, of course, we are not giving government more money. It isn’t like being enticed by advertising to go spend our money at Burger King instead of MacDonald’s, or Target instead of WalMart. We are giving – allowing – government to have more power to take our money. Some of us nasty lovers of liberty even call it stealing.)

We see that there are many excuses to letting government intervene more and more in our daily lives. Among them? In the last 30+ years, and especially today: weather! Yes, the weather.

April Fools NOT – at least regarding guns

A small Colorado newspaper triggered major panic earlier this week when their annual April Fools Day special had a screaming headline about the Colorado General Assembly (the legislature) passing new laws telling gunowners to surrender their weapons or go to jail

The Teller County Sheriff has long told his County’s citizens that he will NOT confiscate their guns, even if it means going to jail himself. Indeed, Jason Mikesell posted this to social media several years ago: “Your right to bear arms is absolute and will not be infringed upon by my office, regardless of any orders or legislative decrees,” states the post.
