TPOL: Not “non-partisan” but “anti-partisan”

Dave Gonigam, over at Lassaiz Faire/Agora, in a paid subscription e-publication, The 5-Minute Forecast, recently said it well. Their publications are NOT “non-partisan.” They are ANTI-partisan. The publishers and editors, mostly free-market anarchists and fairly savvy financial gurus, are against partisanship. Just because they condemn Trump on something does NOT mean that they support Biden. When they are trashing Biden, it is NOT because they think The Donald is a wonderful guy and leader. And when they trash some stupid things that Dr. Jo has done, it does NOT mean that they are statists and/or on the side of chaos.

Ditto for The Price of Liberty.

Critical Theory is an attack on human liberty -reposted

(Warning: contains religious ideas which some may find offensive. No apologies offered.)

I was recently introduced to a philosophical idea called “Critical Theory” by a correspondent, Stacey Durham.

CRITICAL THEORY Chances are that you have never heard of it – or just recently. It is time for all lovers of liberty and followers of Christ Jesus to become familiar with Critical Theory because it is affecting almost everything in the Fifty States (and perhaps the world) today. (For those who are christians, the Lord expects us to “discern the signs of the times” (Matthew 16:3). For lovers of liberty in general, we must pay attention to signs indicating threats to our lives and liberty. This is one of those signs.)

Seriously: Why Joe Biden may win in November

Less than a month and a half to the next election for Massa – the POTUS. Will Massa Trump (The Donald) win again with his Russian overlord’s help? Will Uncle Joe the Slow (Biden) defeat the evil Bad Orange Man? Will Dr. Jo save the Republic? (Fat, fat chance that!) Will the election results be inconclusive? Undecided for days or weeks? Will it get thrown into the Congress? Will it get thrown into the streets? (Already there, some will argue.)

This and that – Snopes and other false “fact-checking” in a world spiraling out of control

A correspondent recently wrote about Pandemic claims made by “conspiracy theorists.”.  She checked much of this information on Snopes.

Really?

I am far from the only person warning readers NOT to trust anything on Snopes.  They have claimed much to be false over the years. – not by the facts but based on their “progressive” politics.  I am not saying that they are wrong on these specific claims (many governments knowing about COVID-19 in advance and that China invented COVID-19). Many such stories have clear internal inconsistencies which show them to be fake. But Snopes is NOT to be trusted. (Other debunking sites and sources also need to be examined with a jaundiced eye.)

The new panhandlers (reprise)

Americans, even in smaller urban areas, have gotten used to them, there on a street corner, near a shopping mall parking area, at the top of a freeway entry ramp. Panhandlers! The old, scruffy bearded guy in a well-worn and often dirty field jacket, the tired and sad woman with a shopping cart full of stuff, sometimes someone younger with a sign “need gas money” or even “can’t find work.” Churches often have someone, sometimes with family in tow, speaking to the usher in the back of the auditorium, seeking money.

We saw a few on a recent trip through Colorado and New Mexico. In the past, we’ve seen them across these nations and in Europe – even had a beggar try to steal my wallet near the Colosseum in Rome, years ago.

Today, we have a new crop of panhandlers pushing into our faces on our TV screens and monitors. Sharply dressed, carefully groomed, always with flags displayed behind them, and nowadays, with someone beside them using sign language. And usually a name plate or a scroll banner under them: “Governor…” This became particularly obvious in May, at the height of the Lockdown.

The Price of Liberty is back … again!

Found out over the weekend that The Price of Liberty was not loading for anyone, and it took some time (when time was short due to work deadlines, family challenges, and a lot of wheel time) to figure out and get it fixed. Based on stats, almost none of the last twenty days’ commentary (total of 12 still pertinent posts) were able to be read, so I’m republished them over the next ten days.

Thanks to all who helped solve the problem! You guys rock!

Baker’s Dozen ™ Actions to deal with the insanity of 2020

The year 2020 is a nightmare. The world has gone mad. The FedGov, already insane, has grown more crazy. Many states converted, virtually overnight, into totalitarian dictatorships – controlled by elected “massas” and unelected bureaucrats and jack-booted thugs. Communities are purposefully torn apart due to internal factions and external meddling.

People, even when part of the insanity, are worried. Terrified. Those who just want to live their lives in peace and prosperity? Enjoy their families, run their businesses, work at their professions? The vast majority of those “normal people” (regardless of their politics and religion) are fearful of the future. At the same time, living as though things are “mostly” normal. And they tell themselves that things are going to return to more normalcy.

Ron Paul – stroke while online – prayers requested

Dr. Ron Paul, in many ways the elder statesman of both the political Libertarian Party and the nonpolitical lovers of liberty (libertarian) movements, was reported to have had some kind of stroke while live online making a presentation. He has been an inspiration to many of us fighting for self-government and liberty for all.

He is 85, and The Price of Liberty and our families offer our prayers for his quick recovery and health.

It has been a bad enough year already.

The importance of trust in these Fifty States

In his 2008 book “The Last Centurion,” John Ringo has (a la Heinlein) a lot of sociopolitical and even “history and moral philosophy” discussions by the fictional narrator/writer, “Bandit Six.”

One of those is a discussion on trust in societies and the difference between societies with general trust and those who have only “familial trust” and those who have very little trust. He pointed out that while the Fifty States overall are a society with general trust, there are more and more communities which have brought the idea of familial trust only,

Planning for chaos

Today, these Fifty States is in the midst of a civil war: a cultural conflict growing more vicious by the day. Politics, though only a part of it, is nevertheless a critical front. The 2020 election may be the most divisive since 1968, and by some accounts, since 1860.

See the source image

A publication (which I strongly dislike referencing) recently published an article: “The Left Prepares for Violence After Election Day,” While they are just one among many sources that are predicting such violence (both before and after election day), the gist is very similar. Among the items discussed in that article is the report of the “Transition Integrity Project.”
