The ministry of truth – heart and soul of government

The recent news of how the US Department of Energy has figured out that the SARS virus was developed from and escaped from a Chinese government “health” lab in Wuhan is bouncing back and forth.

The FBI claims that they told us that a year or more ago.

Various government agencies at all levels still claim this is false. And some even claim that the reason for people NOT believing it came from a Chinese lab is The Donald. Surprised they don’t blame W (George W Bush) also.

But one thing we must learn (again) from this: GOVERNMENT LIES.

Indeed, every part of modern government seems like it is just another agency of MINITRUE.

As we pointed out in a commentary a few months ago, once more, we see the evil hand of government in causing and prolonging human suffering – and in killing people. Last time, we talked about Alzheimer’s disease. But although we’ve being pointing out that was the case with the COVID-19 pandemic for several years, that scourge is still with us.

But where are the lynch mobs? The post-apocalyptic mob lynching the poor, innocent, knowledge-seeking scientists because it was science (particularly government scientists and their idiotic political master) that created the situation which is busy destroying our world.

They seem to be too busy going after the likes of Scott Adams (creator of Dilbert) to destroy his business. (The screenshot from WLEX touts the Herald-Leader, a newspaper, proclaiming its dedication to fighting hatred and bigotry, which Mr. Adams too was speaking out against. Just on the part of the wrong, protected people. Well, the paper was at least partly right: their readers deserve better. From the Herald-Leader.)

The price of government

This shows it, in a neat graphic way:

(The shirt, by the way, comes from Libertas Institute, and sells for $9.99. No endorsement implied, and TPOL won’t make a dime on it if you buy one. But we do ask you tell them you learned about it from the Bartons at ThePriceofLiberty.org!)

But simply put: THE PRICE OF GOVERNMENT IS LIBERTY.

Our liberty. Your liberty, my liberty. Our children’s liberty, our grandchildren’s liberty. Our neighbors and our loved ones’ liberty.

Guest Commentary: Morton sues the WHO

A Seussian Poem About The Plight Of A Vaccinated Man In Covid, shared by our reader Scott.

By Jenna McCarthy

The 15th of March seemed a nondescript day,
although something was festering far, far away.
It may or may not have escaped from a lab,
(but make no mistake; it would end in a jab).

Where did the homeless come from?

(Apologies: this should have been published on Saturday, but got caught in the computer – our fault!)

American cities – even smaller ones – seem to be submerging beneath a massive tide of homeless.

The above shows a street in Phoenix, Arizona, called “The Zone” which has a floating population of more than 1,000 people, with some claiming 10,000.

In the last few weeks, crossing the Western States on business, we here at TPOL have again seen for ourselves the problems of homelessness and poverty in towns and cities in states like Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah.

End of the world? Or just civilization?

Are the headlines scary right now? Economy? War? Sickness? More? Are things really crashing down?

The Russians are coming, the Russians are here!

Russia’s chemical attack on the United States?

Many people have pointed out that the FedGov’s response to the train derailment and massive chemical (vinyl chloride) release in Palestine, Ohio has been slow, muted, and unreasonable.

I wonder why?

Perhaps this is part of the answer: Are Uncle Joe’s managers hiding their belief that this was really a chemical attack on the US by a Russian stooge?

Hmmm.

Uncle Joe’s excellent Ukraine adventure!

The West seems to have dodged a bullet as I write this on the morning of Monday, 20 February 2022.

I am, of course, referring to illustrious leader Uncle Joe being bundled off by his nannies to Ukraine. Into uncontrolled airspace. Into the middle of a year-long war. A high-intensity war. Pretending to be leader of a pretended to-be “neutral nation.” Building up a corrupt regime created by and propped up by the DC regime in collusion with Brussels, Paris, and London. Raising dear Kamilla’s hopes!

How low can we go?

Just when you think things can’t get any worse… We have this news, from the current White House/Uncle Joe Regime shill.

Wow! As several people, have pointed out: If he is the best communicator in the White House, then the bar really is set low, and his administration is more incompetent than we thought.

But the response from so-called Conservatives and even some reportedly Libertarian types? “We need leaders who are strong, charismatic and inspire confidence in the public. The ability to speak and communicate properly with the American people is part of that.

America’s history of petticoat rule

The Western Journal recently published an article about the growing power of Jill Biden, or Aunt Jill, as perhaps we should be calling her.

Keeping in mind the journalistic fervor and bias of WND and The Western Journal, let’s look at the history of First Ladies and their power over their husbands and the federal government. It is, in many ways, not a very pretty picture – unlike the women who held that title.

For title it is, not found in the Constitution, and only recently found in American law, when Congress started massively subsidizing the “office” and creating (and paying for) yet another bureaucracy. It is, sickening to those of us who love liberty (well, most of us) really a title of nobility: the American version of Queen Consort. And like the queen consorts and mistresses of European and Asian royalty, many of them have played a powerful role in the rule (and ruin) of their nations.

Human progress and liberty

What is “human progress?” When does it happen? Where has there been the most progress? And again, when has there been the most progress?

Heinlein: “Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. … This is known as ‘bad luck.’”

Compare to some of Ayn Rand’s writings:
