COVID-19 madness is really not new

It seems, that COVID-19 is contagious – even highly contagious. But the rate of spread and contagion of the novel coronavirus pales in comparison to the rate of spread of panic and madness triggered by this pandemic.

Madness? First, the truth is NOT given by government agencies and the mainstream media – the establishment. Not just that, but the truth is being actively suppressed. Lies about prevention and treatment, spread by government, media, and business since March, are being promoted anew. Every effort is made to terrorize people into cowering in their homes, dependent on the “charity” and “kindness” of government for everything. Any and all news about the spread, research, actual illness rates (versus test results) and severity of illness is exaggerated. The establishment not only poohpoohs actual truth and attacks those who try to provide it, but works actively to prevent the truth from even being distributed. And to demonize those telling the truth.

Under the tyrant’s boots

See the source image

With friends, clients, and family in northwestern New Mexico, we pay close attention to the news from the Land of Enchantment.

It isn’t good these days. According to the Farmington Times, New Mexico’s thuggish empress has waved her scepter and decreed two+ weeks of fresh lockdown. Not just a lockdown, but a stay-at-home order and more. “Businesses” (including churches) are not allowed to have more than 25% of occupied capacity of their building or 75 people max to be there. While liquor stores and bicycle maintenance shops are “essential” apparently schools are not. Thanksgiving is all but outlawed – no, not just the holiday but the mere giving of thanks. Rationing of a long list of “essential supplies” has been established. (Including medications, baby formula, and diapers. Unsure if toilet paper, paper towels, and hand sanitizer is. Maybe those things are not “essential.”)

Indeed, where do we go from here?

Libertarians – both the political type and the less-political lovers of liberty – face a set of serious challenges in this horrid year of 2020 and in the future.

We know that there is no indication that things will go better in the next few months, or next several years. We have seen the excuse of the Beer Flu to steal away more and more liberty, invent and apply more and more controls, and demand more and more taxes and debt.

Is it catching? (Insanity)

Madness and insanity is not just an American problem – and not just an epidemic among the political class and worthless “students.” The insanity of modern society – rather, too many people and institutions IN society – is truly frightening.

Consider this mad proposal from the once-esteemed Deutsche Bank – or at least one of its highers-up. A “work from home” (WFH) “privilege tax,” no less.

In Memorium

The good people over at Whiskey and Gunpowder, especially Byron King, revisited the events of 102 years ago, and “A Country on the Edge of Forever,” yesterday. It is definitely worth reading – even if you’ve already read it a time or two.

Let us consider on our own, something about Armistice or Remembrance, or Veterans Day. And the consequences of that event, which theoretically brought to an end the hideous cataclysm originally called just “The Great War” and known today as the First World War.

A war which these United States – the Forty-eight, at the time – did NOT win.

What is the real role of government?

As we continue to deal with the Anno Horribus 2020, and especially the mess called the General Election of 2020 and the Second Lockdown, let us sit back and think for a moment or two.

What is the real role of human, involuntary government? Not what its advocates, defenders, or detractors claim. But what it is really capable of doing? Both internally and externally?

Tough question, eh? Important though it may be, it isn’t something you can give a middle-schooler an essay assignment on: write 1,000 words on what government is capable of doing.

Liberty is NOT what we enjoy in these Fifty States

As the civil war heats up, are we ready to take the opportunity for regaining lost liberty? It is clear that liberty is NOT what at least half of Americans want to enjoy, here in 2020.

As many people anticipated, the 2020 election has not resolved anything at all.

Election 2020: Good news and bad news

My, oh my.

Look at the raw numbers – and realize, IF America had a democratic system of government where the popular vote winner wins, none of the current turmoil would be taking place.

With 72.4 million votes for our beloved Uncle Joe, and with just 68.9 million votes for the racist, fascist, bigoted, evil, vote-suppressing, Russian stooge, celebrity, fake billionaire, Trump. And with JoJo, Trump’s running-dog “opponent” getting a shocking 1.6 million votes… Well, it is clear that America is moving forward towards a newer, brighter, future of unity, equality of outcome, and eternal progress. In which everyone will enjoy free and high quality health care, free and high-quality education, low rent, living wages, shorter working hours, and more.

What do we do?

Election Day is NOT supposed to be Bill Murray’s Groundhog Day. But waking up this morning, you might be forgiven for fearing that has happened.

Sliding into chaos, a few of the Fifty States have decided to wreck the remnants of the Union. While many of us have prepared for the worst, it is time to review what we have done and see if we really HAVE made all the preparations that are needed. But first, we need to figure out just where we are at!

Unlike our usual election day actions of the past, my family and I spent the evening of 3 November 2020 keeping at least one eye on the election results bouncing back and forth across the States.

We saw the media tap-dance back and forth, attacking the Trump and GOP constantly. We saw the panic that many people exhibited as results and claims came in. We saw more and more confidence (or fear) on the part of many people that Biden was losing – right up until suddenly the counting seemed to come to a screeching halt.

E-Day: evolution or revolution?

Today is E-Day: the official election day for thousands of political offices, hundreds of election issues, and millions of voters. Supposedly, as many as 90 million people have already cast their ballots, before the polls opened this morning. In some states, more people have voted already than voted in total in 2016.

But what if the vote is meaningless, and the decisions have already been made?
