Continue readingThanks to Miquel for finding this. Just in time for Memorial Day.

Kipling described this insanity just over a century ago, in his poem, The Gods of the Copybook Headings. Definitely worth reading.
Continue readingIt had been a long day. I was tired and frustrated with computer problems, dealing with angry and abusive customers of my bank on the phone, and being cooped up. I had shut down my system, rubbed my hands and face with sanitizer, slipped on the nitrile gloves, disinfected by personal cell phone and earbud, turned them on and put them on, then checked my current mask. The telltale was still in the green zone, so I put it on and walked down the row of cubicles to the main door, nodding at the security guards with their zootsuits, full face respirators, and stun rods.

It took a while – far too long in most places – for people to seriously start fighting back – not just to resist but to actively rebel. Even in States that are still relatively free. But especially in States now ruled by dictators – whether self-appointed or with legislative “approval.”

Synonyms: autocrat, absolute ruler, tyrant, despot, oppressor, Big Brother, supremo, and many more.

I recognize that there have always been limits to that – for instance, that enslaving other humans cannot be tolerated even if it is on private property. Mama Liberty and I disagreed on whether or not the God-given right to self-defense (bearing arms) could be restricted by a private business or not.

A Baker’s Dozen (TM) examples of media lies and politician worship
Look, we all know the media lies. This has become an increasing problem, a deep embarrassment to many publishers, editors, and others (usually retired) as the powermongers and the pitifully uneducated modern “professionals” move into the business.
Here are some recent examples:
