Why I do not support AntiFa, Black Lives Matter, etc.

Libertarian commentators and writers recently have been slammed for not supporting the groups protesting (and more) since the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis more than seven weeks ago. Not only are we not showing up with our weapons in hand to defend them against the police, we are not supporting them in our words, either. I plead guilty. Indeed, I condemn them.

Are we are hypocritical if we do not support these protests? And the “justified” violence, looting, arson, and other actions? We are condemned for not parroting the claims of “systematic racism” and the collective “white supremacy” and “white guilt” which has supposedly infected and shaped and made “America” since 1619. (We are told that our values as libertarians are nothing but evidence of our “whiteness” and “adherence to white supremacy and superiority.” If we are NOT “white” we are told that we are tools of the establishment if we believe in individualism, personal responsibility, free enterprise, freedom from government, and such things.)

States of Insurrection

It is time to call a spade a spade.  Major American cities are in a state of insurrection – indeed, based on the actions (and inaction) of several States, entire States are in insurrection.  Matters grow worse, day by day. Bad as our federal and state governments have been in the 20th and first two decades of the 21st Century, what we see in too many places is a far worse form of government: overt tyranny coupled with ever more chaos.

California: Rebellion is no longer optional

It has now been eighteen days since the murdering, totalitarian, tyrannical, autocratic “governor” of California outlawed most elements of worship, and forms of public worship, for Christians and Jews in much of that once-great State.

It is more than just “health” concerns, more than just “micromanagement” – the actions taken by the dictator are a direct attack on the religious freedom of Californians and anyone who happens to be there.

From the California Globe: LA Teachers Union: Schools Can’t Reopen Unless Charter Schools Shut Down, Police Defunded

In what appears to be a labor union power play, the United Teachers Los Angeles union announced Friday that Los Angeles Unified District schools effectively cannot reopen unless certain conditions are met: privately operated publicly funded charter schools are shut down, police are defunded, Medicare-for-All government-run health care is passed, a statewide wealth tax is implemented, housing for homeless is fully funded, “financial Support for Undocumented Students and Families,” and they want a federal bailout because “the CARES and HEROES Acts provided funding for K-12, both fell far short of what would be needed to rescue districts and state and local governments.” The source cited for this claim is the National Education Association, the largest labor union and special interest group in the United States.

At last! A reason to support this new pogrom – Woodrow Wilson

We watch the increasingly shrill (and violent) attacks on anything and everything that can possibly be labeled as “racist.” This is exploding from the Twenty-Dollar Revolt over the killing of Minneapolis criminal George Floyd by a “racist” obviously abusive jack-booted thug in blue (while a mixed-race collection of other cops watched).

The mob – both physical and virtual – is baying like hounds as they race to destroy all record, all evidence, of “white supremacy.” One target was that bastion of science and scholarship, Princeton University. Their target? The evil Woodrow Wilson.

ALL Rights Matter

A female student at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas, was expelled within hours for a posting on social media which was meant to disparage those who do NOT take the christian concern for human life seriously regardless of race. In other words, for exercising her freedom of expression.

A Baker’s Dozen ™ Needs for living without police

You live in, or have to be in (even travel) through one of those areas that is disbanding or defunding or abolishing their police forces – or even just setting up “no-go” zones (a la France, Sweden, and certain cities on this continent)? There is a certain amount of preparation that you might want to take – to be safer and help your family and friends to also be prepared and able to cope. Regardless of your skin color, your ethnic or national background, or how high up the economic food chain you are.

What do you do, with no police around? No, not just not worry about an occasional mistake in your speed or failing to signal.

Pahasapa burning… not

Pahasapa (or Paha Sapa) is a Lakota name for the Black Hills of South Dakota and Wyoming.

According to a huge number of politicians and “experts” (including way too many in South Dakota and the Black Hills), the glorious fireworks display at Mount Rushmore on Friday the 3rd was going to destroy the Black Hills. Hundreds of fires would be set off by fireworks over the sculpture in the “abnormally dry” Ponderosa pine forests of the National Memorial, the Peter Norbeck Wildlife Preserve, and nearby Custer State Park and the rest of Black Hills National Forest. All supposedly for the vainglory of The Donald.
