Compromising with rebellious governments is not godly

In California, incredibly, a superior court judge ruled that a religious congregation can continue to worship indoors… with conditions, of course. Why is this incredible? In part because the US Supreme Court, by vote of 5 Nazguli, denied an application for injunctive relief from a congregation in Nevada – thereby supporting the tyrannical decree of that State’s governor (or dictator) in denying the free exercise of religion. This was done on 24 JUL 2020, just weeks ago.

But now a judge in Los Angeles County has denied the County (and by inference, the State) has the legal power to prohibit people from assembling in person to worship God. A bold step indeed for a local Nazgul – we know who pays his wages, and guards him, after all.

But it is not the decision, welcome as it is, that I wish to comment on. It is the action and reaction of the preacher for this congregation. As he represents thousands of his (and officially, Christ’s) followers.

Final collapse? Or cataclysmic revival? (Post #2200)

According to many people, the Fifty States, and the American Empire, are washed up. Breathing our last, slipping down ever faster on the downward spiral to cataclysm and destruction. Dozens of reasons are given for this fear – based on the political positions and fears and phobias of the person(s) and institutions screaming about it.

Not everyone sees collapse, but many see major damage and chaos. Agora (Laissez Faire) recently discussed their take on “war games” by a collection of deep-staters (and therefore Anti-Trumpers). Four scenarios were played out – two ending in deadlock and all in a constitutional crisis and a “no one’s really in charge” situation. But Agora agreed with all of them: election disruptions, violence in the streets, widespread allegations of fraud and cheating, and more.

A proposal for an alternative to modern police forces

As the Lockdown Rebellion (against the COVID-19 Pandemic Panic) morphed into the Twenty-Dollar Revolt (the current madness triggered by the murder of George Floyd), a key meme emerged: Abolish the Police!!! (Expressed in many ways, of course.)

Many libertarians immediately jumped on the bandwagon. As if libertarians (especially free market, true, anarchists) have not been preaching and promoting this for decades. Libertarians have long argued that a root of tyranny is granting governments police powers, and urged privatizing such social functions.

“All of the sudden” millions of people seem to be screaming for the same thing. But they are not really proposing anything different.

Massas and emperors and kings

Consider something shared by a reader:

The Stand For America website asked readers, if they were president for a day, what their first executive order would be: Getting the most votes was “restoring traditional values to the classroom”. Another response was, “Enact a law requiring a balanced budget.” My reader and correspondent asked, “Don’t we already have that law somewhere in the bloated federal books? Why isn’t it enforced? Because we citizens like free money more than we want our nation to survive?”

The shocking thing about this is NOT what the readers wanted. Despite media claims and the rioters in the streets and the power-tripping, greedy politicians in DC, people want to restore some sanity. And many believe this wild ride of the last half century to be caused in large part by the public schools and a lack of personal responsibility exemplified by the massive spending of the welfare-warfare state.

New Mexico’s evil history … (part 2)

See here for Part 1, and here for why I’m writing about New Mexico’s history and hostility to liberty.

Mexico’s legacy – its political and cultural DNA – continues to breed true, traced from Iberia and its 700 year fight for liberty against Islamic Moors, the Imperial Spanish regime of conquistadors and the papal missionaries. And it continues to be felt and make up part of the culture and political and social system which New Mexico endures even in 2020. (New Mexico’s state government differs in many ways from “standard” governments of most of the Fifty States.)

New Mexico’s evil history of tyranny and oppression (part 1)

To understand the situation in New Mexico, its enmity towards liberty, and its tolerance and embrace of tyranny (currently in the form of MIchelle Lujan Gresham), we have to look at history, going back 1400 years and across the seas.

For more than 700 years, the people of Iberia (today’s Spain, Portugal, and Catalonia) fought against an evil empire which had conquered and basically enslaved them. Finally, in 1492, the Spanish rulers of a united Crown finally kicked the last of the Muslim Moors across the Straits of Gibraltar into Africa.

The coming Golden Age of homeschooling?

We are seeing more evidence that the future of homeschooling in these Fifty States is one of massive expansion.

It is no surprise to those who are familiar with the concept and may nave even done homeschooling.  It is, I believe, a combination of factors:

New Mexico – doomed to tyranny?

Recently, the New Mexico Supreme Court, stated that the “Governor” of New Mexico had the power to arbitrarily levee $5,000 fines for any restaurant that does not submit to her dictatorial decrees – and refused to close their doors. Even two weeks ago, it was estimated that a minimum of 700 restaurants and cafes would close “for good.” That number now appears to be way too low in this state of 2 million people.

The Supreme Court is usually seen as being a lapdog for Michelle Lujan-Gresham, a tyrant who has used the excuse of the Pandemic Panic to become a dictator. She recently stated that she has the power to fire any mayor of any city or town in the State who fails to obey her edicts. She has sent troops to lockdown cities; she has sent State Police (rightly called Gestapo) to arrest political opponents on trumped-up charges. She is working on her stated goals of ending all oil and gas production and consumption in “her State.”

Unfortunately, I fear that this is exactly what can be expected in the Land of Enchantment, the State of New Mexico. Its social, cultural, and political heritage seem to have doomed it to tyranny and oppression. Lujan Gresham is NOT an anomoly in New Mexican history.

Freedom of the open road – RALLY IS HERE!

Officials Promote Safety en Route to Sturgis | CycleVin

Readers know that the Barton family is based in the Black Hills, and operates frequently in the Four Corners and sometimes on the Front Range of Colorado, with work stretching across eight states on a regular basis.

Freedom of the road is important to us. The Fifty States is (or WAS) the world’s biggest free-trade zone. (Almost REAL free-trade, not the sort of garbage that NAFTA and TPP pretended was free-trade.) Why do I say “was?” Because of the Lockdown and the Pandemic Panic.

One symbol of that, and the spirit of entrepreneurship for 80 years has been the Sturgis, or Black Hills, Motorcycle Rally. THE EIGHTIETH RALLY STARTS TODAY!

POTUS = Liar

In The Nation, Eric Alterman’s lengthy article states, “Not All Presidential Liars Are Created Equal”  He should know: doesn’t it take one to know one? While some of what he writes is the truth, he leaves out the most important parts.

He is right in one sense, in his closing: we MUST face the problem that IS government head-on.

He writes in part:
