You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.
Obi-Wan was wrong. The writers that penned those words knew it. Because they lived in a worse, more wretched hive.
It is called California.

Just what counts as “initiation of force” against someone? Against a community? When are we justified in using violence to defend ourselves or others against a threat?
This are all questions which concern many of us. Those who have a standard of morality, an ethical picture of the world and their place in it. Sadly, too many people, and too many societies (cultures) do not have either standards or any view of the ethical and moral nature of life.
Consider California. While there are many good people there, most are dirty: spiritually, morally, ethically. And therefore, most of them are controllers: haters of liberty. As a result, so is their society.

Alex Jones, the gravel-voiced publisher, owner, editor, and voice of InfoWars and other websites and podcasts, is in the news and the commentaries this week.
And he is actually in trouble. As I understand it, Apple, Facebook, Spotify, Twitter, and Google (including YouTube), and even Pinterest(!) have attacked InfoWars and Jones’ own website, suspended his accounts, and in essence are denying him their services as an outlet for his news and views. Or, if you prefer, his rants.
A lot of people are calling it censorship. An attack on free speech.

A guest writer, Russian Stanislav Mishin, for JPFO, has some words of wisdom for us, based on his nation’s history for the last couple of centuries.
Do not be fooled by a belief that progressives, leftists hate guns. Oh, no, they do not. What they hate is guns in the hands of those who are not marching in lock step of their ideology. They hate guns in the hands of those who think for themselves and do not obey without question. They hate guns in those whom they have slated for a barrel to the back of the ear.

UPDATE: Apparently a federal court in Washington State, which somehow has “jurisdiction” over the other 49 and territories (and maybe the whole world) has issued a restraining order prohibiting distribution of plans for 3D guns by internet. Again, long after the “settlement” out of court. Right.

Freedom Net Daily published some of the latest in the 3D-printed firearms front today, with news from Pennsylvania that Defense Distributed agrees to temporary censorship.
(PS: A plug for Kent McManigal, whose flag flew over Mama Liberty’s house for a long time.)

The recent SCOTUS non-decision on the Masterpiece bakery case and the even more recent case of the Red Hen denying service to Sarah Huckabee Sanders have already been compared and contrasted by all parties. Most recently, the Acton Institute, in their Powerblog, offered a libertarian take on these. In essence, AI argues that conservatives were as wrong for condemning the Red Hen as liberals were for condemning Jack Phillips at Masterpiece.
Although it is old news, it is worth pondering in the modern-day Fifty States and the sick, politicized culture and society we have become.

People don’t like ICE, or so says The Hill (a pandering journalism-light rag that sucks up to politicians) in an article on polling concerning the FedGov’s “Immigrations and Customs Enforcement” agency which includes the jack-booted thugs of the Border Patrol and other thugs. Surprise, surprise.
I wonder if the article is designed to bolster efforts by Dems reported a couple of weeks ago, to “disestablish” the apparently unloved organization.
Tom Knapp has the right of it in a comment he posted on Freedom Net Daily back on 17 JUL. Reporting on what he properly calls a “fake” ICE abolition bill introduced by several House Democrats, reported in The Hill, would just shift the various functions of ICE to other governmental agencies. He opines that this is not really abolition, and that we SHOULD abolish ICE and replace it with nothing. Amen, Tom.

It happens all the time. Only the situation, the name and affiliation of the perpetrator(s) change.

How do lovers of liberty deal with it? Confront it? Overcome it? Here are a few thoughts.
Is it catching? (#3 of 3)

Is it in the water? the air? Maybe the fog that rolls in through the Golden Gate or from Ocean Beach and Baker Beach? Or is it some sort of infection that people can get from breathing someone else’s freshly exhaled-air or getting some of their spittle on your skin? We know it is probably not JUST a sexually-transmitted disease.
