Libertarian Commentary on the News, #13-30E: Abuse by government

by Nathan Barton

Good morning, and stay cool and calm.  Remember all those thugs are out there to protect us.

Like those Iowa Boy Scouts going into Alaska by road last week.  A good voice-only interview with Scoutmaster Fox fills in a LOT of the details. Here is the interview; worth listening to. The Government is sowing the whirlwind.  These Scouts DID learn a valuable civics lesson: their government treats them as terrorists, criminals, suspects, and threats.  One of these times, the BP or TSA will run into a troop of Scouts who are NOT from Iowa and practice the old ways, and armed to the teeth, and ready and able to defend themselves with the handmade knives, hatchets (or tomahawks), black powder rifles and pistols, and more…  And even some of THESE Scouts will grow up and join the Army to learn how to fight to restore liberty at HOME as well as abroad. Children and Safety

By MamaLiberty

By what process do “children” become adults? How do people become responsible for themselves, rather than dependent on others for their lives and safety? What part does chronological age have to do with it?

We would all likely say that a two or three year old is incapable of exercising sufficient judgment to be trusted to hold or use a sharp object, let alone a gun – no matter how much one might attempt to teach them. To start with, most don’t have enough control of their muscles, but then there are the three year olds who play classical piano… Of course, that is the exception. I never met a prodigy like that myself, and my experience tells me toddlers have little impulse control either. Can I then assume that this is true for everyone, everywhere? Continue reading

Libertarian Commentary on the News, #13-30D: Crying-out-loud Funny.

by Nathan Barton

Good afternoon.  Some funny (sad-funny) things being said this week.  Here are a few!

An Ohio Sheriff having to deal with border jumpers sucking his budget dry due to petty and not so petty crimes has had the gall to send a bill for their incarceration to the president of Mexico.  And what happened?  He got a  A letter from the FedGov saying he had violated an 1790 treaty.  Right.  How funny can you get? Libertarian Commentary on the News, #13-30C: More Home Front Follies – and Solutions

by Nathan Barton

Good morning, and hopefully a good week as well.

More from DC and the Nazgul. DC Police Chief will treat DC as a constitutional carry “state” following the court ruling, according to various reports.  As Mama Liberty says: “If you believe this, you might be interested in buying some beach front property in Arizona… I most certainly would not be eager to test it. They’d find SOMETHING to get upset about, and probably kill you.” This matches my thoughts from yesterday.  DC police have NO reason to support constitutional rights for any DC residents OR for anyone else visiting DC, and every reason to continue to abuse and tyrannize everyone possible. The solution here?  End ALL of DC’s illegal and immoral laws on buying and owning guns: let people defend themselves. Continue reading

Home Front heats up (Libertarian Commentary on the News, #13-30B)

Good afternoon.  Over the weekend, some stories showing how bad things are getting on the home front showed up, and I want to discuss them.

In  Pennsylvania, a doctor shot a patient who killed a caseworker, using the gun kept in a wall display labeled “In case of emergency” in the medical office… NO, really, using his own personal weapon carried concealed (and against hospital edicts). Here is the USA Today story (which does disprove the claim by many people about this incident that NONE  of the Mainstream Media were willing to report it): Continue reading

Libertarian Commentary on the News, #13-30A: This and That

By Nathan Barton

Good morning, and here are a few news stories from last week and over the weekend: this and that.  Amazing what all is going on!

Raqqa, Syria is the new capitol of the ISIS caliphate in Syria and Mesopotamia (Iraq). The free people of Iraq are begging for American help to hold off the ISIS threat (how foolish of them).  Meanwhile, the “free people” of neighboring Syria are more and more rallying to the victorious and bloodthirsty victors of the Islamic State. Whether it is religious-political fervor OR self-protective fear, the state is worshiped by these people as part of their practice of Islam.  We can condemn them for this, but too many who claim to be “christian” or Jew do the same. A Lady and A Gun

By MamaLiberty

One of the most exciting things for me as a firearms and self defense instructor, is seeing an increasing number of women, especially young people, becoming interested and starting the process toward responsible gun ownership.

Once they have some training, two questions come from most of them. “How do I choose a gun?” is the first. The second, and even more difficult to answer, is, “How in the heck do I carry this thing?” Continue reading

Libertarian Commentary on the News, #14-29E: Simon Says?

by Nathan Barton

Good morning.  Fans of R. A. Heinlein’s “The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress” will recall the PR campaign featuring “Kilroy was here” and the little horned devil “Simon.”  Like the famous Eric Frank Russell novel “WASP” and others, the literature on how to use propaganda (PR) techniques to drive the government goons more nuts is readily available and fun to read – and also do.  Put a little bit of time into printing out and distributing some labels (sorry, I don’t know where to buy that adhesive that has little tiny pellets of acid activated by water to etch the glass, wish I did). Libertarian Commentary on the News, #14-29D: Sire, the peasants are revolting!

By Nathan Barton

Good morning!  Those who love Johnny Hart’s comics will recall, “Sire, the peasants are revolting!” as a great series of strips and book, and it should remind us all too well that our beloved Fuehrer seems to imitate the King of Id a whole lot.  IF this be “Lese Majeste” then by all means, make the most of it. Libertarian Commentary on the News, #14-29C: Situation crumbling?

By Nathan Barton

Good morning.  Are things starting to crumble even faster?  The Fuehrer and his minions got another few kicks in the teeth this week.  I feel so sorry for him!

Different sets of Nazgul made conflicting rulings on ObummerCare tax and subsidy provisions this week, setting the stage for the Nine Nazgul to decide the fate of one more piece of this large and gross Abominable Act.  One said that subsidies have been paid out by the IRS (at the Fuehrer’s order, natch) in 36 states that do not have health care exchanges (for the transfer of stolen money, apparently), while the other group said that the IRS can pretty much do what it pleases because Congress is so brain dead that it passed an ambiguous law that can say anything that the Fuehrer and his thuggish cohorts want it to.
